Role Summary/Purpose

The Assembler position will be responsible for the assembling of electronic, mechanical and pneumatic operations.
Essential Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

·  Perform electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic or similarly related repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations related to soldering, sub-assemblies, and basic, mid-level, and / or final assemblies

·  Perform assembly operations using established procedures, work instructions, schematics, and / or other approved documentation.

·  Perform inspection of own work to identify nonconformances

·  Ability to identify when inspection frequencies are not adequate

·  May test product in a laboratory environment

·  Set up and operate test equipment with assistance

·  May analyze / troubleshoot product issues to determine root cause and corrective action

·  Acknowledge and support team decisions

·  Actively participates in team meetings and events

·  Other responsibilities as assigned

·  This position may be required to perform safety sensitive work in the future, and would be subject at that time to random drug and alcohol testing under Federal Aviation Administration regulations. GE Aviation, Loves Park has a zero-tolerance policy.

Qualifications/Requirements

·  High School Diploma / GED

·  Solder certified

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

·  This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.

·  Understand assembly process, flagnotes, chart drawings, schematics, and other related documents based on the assembly blueprint

·  Understand the function of schematics in their entirety for aid in learning to troubleshoot components and / or systems in pertinent area

·  Familiarity with operator plans -- test procedures, collaborate with others to make changes or corrections

·  Ability and willingness to use and maintain the required assembly hand tools

·  Ability and willingness to operate some presses, winding machines, floor cranes, etc.

·  Ability and willingness to lift / move material up to 25 pounds

·  Ability and willingness to work frequent overtime as required and / or needed by the business

·  May be required to work with hazardous materials
Desired Characteristics

·  Minimum of 1 year aerospace industry or similar manufacturing experience

·  Proficient in the use of a personal computer to navigate on-line documents, drawings, and instructions

·  Ability and willingness to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner and / or engage appropriate support staff

·  Prior experience working in a team oriented environment

·  Collaboratively approaches other team members regarding internal conflict, disagreements or technical issues or questions

·  Conscientious regarding safety and quality of workmanship

·  Ability to visually recognize problems and resolve in a timely manner
