Role Summary/Purpose

Responsible for implementing and maintaining the plant strategy on Environmental issues (air, climate change, waste, water) for GE Healthcare. This individual will also function in a team environment with other members of the business level EHS staff to ensure EHS compliance, to identify, prevent and resolve potential environmental issues and to mitigate environmental liabilities associated with current and former operations and facilities.
Essential Responsibilities

Key responsibilities/essential functions include:
1. Lead certain assigned aspects (technical, regulatory/third party interface, reporting, permitting, compliance, financial, administrative, etc.) of GE Healthcare projects and permits in compliance with relevant regulatory programs and GE corporate policies. Ensure appropriate management of consultants and legal counsel on all projects and coordinate efforts of other EHS staff members and site EHS professionals on various projects as required.
2. Contribute and engage in establishing and tracking remedial project budgets, if applicable at site. Provide and update estimates of future remedial costs on projects for environmental reserve purposes.
3. Evaluate facility EHS conditions, assess risks and develop appropriate corrective-action plans and budgets to address deficiencies in comparison to regulations and internal policy/protocol.
4. Provide EHS guidance and compliance support to site EHS managers to ensure compliance with regulatory and program requirements. Participate in EHS compliance and program audits of manufacturing sites and service operations.
5. Keep management apprised of progress and significant developments on key projects.
Qualifications/Requirements

1. Bachelor of Science in Environmental, Civil, or Chemical Engineering, Hydrogeology or Geology or related technical discipline
2. 3+ years experience managing environmental site programs including regulatory management, risk assessment, etc.
3. Regulatory knowledge and experience working under U.S. federal and state and /or equivalents regulations covering contamination, site investigation and property transfer such as CERCLA, RCRA, OSHA, TSCA, ISRA, etc. and capable of learning requirements and applying this experience internationally
4. Compliance experience with federal and state EHS regulations (CAA, CWA, OSHA, codes, etc)
5. Proven project and program management skills

1. Professional certifications (PG, PE, LSP, etc).
2. Experience managing projects and/or EHS compliance.
3. Able to simultaneously manage multiple projects and other responsibilities, adjust to changing priorities and to make decisions with speed and accuracy based on available information
4. Team player with strong interpersonal skills, capable of working within a globally diverse, cross-functional, internal and external team across different time zones.
5. Excellent oral and written communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
