Role Summary/Purpose

The Database Administrator & Developer is expected to work in conjunction with a broader project engineering team based in Romania and abroad, aimed to successfully support the global solutions delivered by the regional project teams.
This role is an integral part of project teams responsible for delivering best-in-class services, development and project delivery of technical solutions and consultancy to key customer accounts, within the various regions of GE Grid Software Solutions.
Essential Responsibilities

• This position will be located in the Bucharest Office.
• Work with technical experts and end users to understand business requirements and identify data solutions. 
• Integration and deployment of delivered application within the final customer solution.  
• Integration and deployment of 3rd party existing Oracle applications and MS-SQL Server components within the customer solutions 
• Design database solution architecture for new applications and adaptation of existing applications, as per customer needs. 
• Participate in project planning, requirement gathering, development, testing, implementation and training

Qualifications/Requirements

• Direct customer facing experience 
• Proven track record of problem analysis, identification and resolution 
• Good design knowledge of high availability Oracle Architecture, both on Linux and Windows. 
 • Good knowledge of Oracle backup and recovery (RMAN) 
• Good knowledge of MS SQL backup and maintenance plans. 
• Relevant MS SQL experience (from SQL 2008 onwards) 
• Experience in Database Performance Tuning (Diagnostic Pack, Wait interface etc.) 
• Experience with PL/SQL development 
• Experience with T-SQL development 
• Good design knowledge of high availability Microsoft SQL Architecture 
• Good troubleshooting skills 
• Should have a prior experience in RDBMS development and design 
• Relevant experience in other RDBMSs (such as PostgreSQL) is considered a major plus 
• Fluent English speaker 
• Flexibility to travel to customer site when required
