Do you love Amazon's low prices? We are the team who price for each and every product that is sold by Amazon Worldwide. Are you interested in designing and owning analytics and reporting for various pricing strategies for Amazon Retail? Do you want to influence the way we price our products and have a direct external customer impact? We are looking for a motivated Data Scientist with strong analytical skills and practical experience to join our Retail Pricing team. We support all Amazon programs and geographies worldwide.

In this role you will identify and drive projects to increase Amazon's understanding and influence of pricing. You will develop regular business reporting to baseline current performance and deepen our insights across customer segments and product types. You will help to establish measurements that will be used when running experiments to measure the impact of the experiments on price quality, perception and financials. You will help to influence the development of new models that will influence the way we come up with prices for our products Worldwide. You will collaborate across teams to develop capacity reporting for project and operational overhead for existing and emergent work-flows.

The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter that can work independently in a fast paced, ambiguous environment with limited supervision. You must be a fast learner who can quickly absorb the nuances of Amazon's varied pricing programs and processes. You need to be analytical in your decision making, with a demonstrated ability to drive issues to completion.

Role Expectations:
· Work closely with the partner BIE, Pricing Economics and ML teams to identify and address issues and opportunities.
· Excel in efficiently disseminating insights and methods to your colleagues through both written and verbal communications.
· Analyze key metrics to uncover trends and root causes of issues.
· Build metrics to measure key inputs and output metrics that drive Amazon prices
· Develop deep dive tools for key metrics.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Masters with two years of experience or a Bachelors with five years of experience.

· Experience in SQL, R, Python, or another scripting language; command line usage; experience in Java

· Track record of diving into data to discover hidden patterns and of conducting error/deviation analysis

· Knowledge of various machine learning techniques and key parameters that affect their performance

· Evidence of using of relevant statistical measures such as confidence intervals, significance of error measurements, development and evaluation data sets, etc. in data analysis projects

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
