Role Summary/Purpose

As part of GE Renewable’s IT Security & Risk organization, this individual will execute on Incident Response activities as outlined in our Incident Response plans. These activities include threat detection/containment/response, SIEM monitoring and alerting, Phishing detection, and security reporting response.

Essential Responsibilities

·  This individual will perform daily incident response activities, monitoring and responding to security alerts and events.

·  In addition, you will engage end-users and application owners in the event of a compromise of a system under their control.

·  Establish reporting rhythms to engage asset owners and update senior stakeholders on required remediation actions.

·  Collaborate with internal & external peers to ensure a best in class approach is taken to identify and respond to threat events.

·  Build automated metrics to monitor compliance and adherence to standards/policies.

·  Partner with Digital leadership (E.g. CIO, CDO) to bolster security posture and ensure IT policy adherence.

·  Communicate and present progress updates to executive leadership.

·  Ensure response operations adhere to SecOps KPIs and SLAs.

Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent (STEM) or equivalent experience

·  Hands-on IT security experience in database, web technologies, networking, or a combination thereof in a large Enterprise setting

Desired Characteristics

·  Strong technical background in IT, demonstrated appetite for new technology, willingness to be very hands-on in a deeply technical and fast-evolving technology area.

·  Relevant experience in detecting and remediating cybersecurity issues.

·  Relevant experience as a Security/Network/System Administrator or equivalent knowledge.

·  In-depth knowledge of various operating systems (Microsoft Windows, Linux, MacOS, Android, etc.)

·  In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP Protocols, Network analysis, Packet capture, Routing/Switching, Network segmentation, Network/System/Host level operating principals and security controls.

·  Working knowledge of various relational database technologies (Microsoft SQL, MySQL, Oracle, etc.)

·  Working knowledge of various security methodologies, processes, and technical security solutions (e.g. Firewalls, Intrusion Detection/Prevention systems, Access Control Lists, Network Segmentation, SIEMs, Auditing/Logging and Identity & Access Management solutions, etc.).

·  General knowledge of cloud-based technologies and cloud security architecture basics.
