Role Summary/Purpose

This role, known internally as Buying Specialist, will be part of a buying team managing their own commodity to ensure timely conversion of requisitions.  They will work very closely with the strategic purchasing team and assisting with the expediting of purchase orders and supplier management. It would suit someone who demonstrates a level of buying experience with excellent communication skills and a passion and commitment to meeting all key milestones of the process.
Essential Responsibilities

·  Creation of compliant Purchase Orders and Purchase Agreements to support business and customer needs. 
·  Provide Weekly Commits & Daily Actuals on P1 Req Conversions to PO 
·  Drive resolution to purchase Orders, Non Conformance, Corrective Actions to maintain material availability. 
·  Ensure lead-time parameters on the system are maintained. 
·  Assure orderly administration and retention of records. 
·  Identify and assess supplier performance. 
·  Ensure supplier process is completed in accordance with GE process and applicable regulatory requirements – including EASA145, FAA8130-3, AS9100 as appropriate.
·  Ensure suppliers have the necessary information in a timely manner to support export license applications. 
·  Ensure supplier delivery commitments are understood and communicated to the business/fulfilment as appropriate. 
·  Where the supplier delivery commitment does not support business requirements support Fulfilment to resolve issues. 
·  Raising compliant Purchase Order Folder documentation. 
·  Resolve Supplier Invoice Queries

Business Review 
·  Establish a schedule of regular reviews with key suppliers utilising the standard business review template working with other sourcing and business functions.

·  Other Duties 
·  Track obsolescence and alert the business to any issues in a timely manner to allow Last Time Buy if required 
·  Sourcing Specialists will be expected to train and support new starters with developing a training plan as required and be able to show evidence of the training
successfully completed. 
·  Customer and Quality audits requiring review of Sourcing policies and procedures will be support by Sourcing Specialist 
·  As part of a development plan the Buyer Specialist can support the Senior Buyer/Sourcing Ops Leader by collating data, preparing documentation and supporting supplier discussions to establish and implement Long Term Agreements.

Qualifications/Requirements

·  Previous experience of working in a Buying role

·  Confident in working with numbers
·  PC and database proficiency 
·  Strong oral and written communication skills 
·  Strong interpersonal skills 
·  Commercial acumen 
·  Able to build effective relationships

Desired Characteristics

·  Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a
high school diploma/GED with relevant experience of working within a buying
/ sourcing role) 

·  Experience of working within a compliance-led organisation would be
highly advantageous
