Role Summary/Purpose

The Process Engineer has the responsibility of the on-time delivery of the Process engineering documentation according to the valid Work Instructions and Technical Rules, with respect to the Project and contractual requirements, and GE Projects EHS Policy, with technical support from the Process Lead Engineer and Experts.

Essential Responsibilities

Roles & Responsibilities:
• Study / Analyze Turbine Heat Balance diagram
• Furnace Sizing Calculations & selection of various Heat absorbing surfaces.
• Sizing calculations for boiler auxiliaries like Fans, ESPs, Air heaters, Pulverizers, SCR , BWCP, SCAPH etc.
• Metal temperature calculations for superheater and reheater sections.
• Sizing calculations for headers and pipes for steam generator
• All related engineering activities like preparation of bill of materials for estimation, technical deviations, and evaluation of technical offers from vendors, bid clarifications etc.
• Furnish SG efficiency and Aux power consumption during bid phase
• To study Process P&IDs, Pressure Parts Arrangement drawings and GA layout
• Participates in design and/or technical reviews (internal/external)
• Supports the site Construction and Commissioning staff through troubleshooting,
• Reports to the Lead Engineer the status of the assigned tasks

Continuous improvements :
• Participates in the maintenance and improvement process of design methods, rules and tools.
• Increases his competence for new technologies by participating in trainings, using mentoring of self-training, looking for opportunities and proposing ideas for Cost Reduction.

Qualifications/Requirements

Mandatory (MUST): Degree in Mechanical /Chemical Engineering

Professional Experience (Experience gained on the job

Mandatory (MUST): Degree in Mechanical /Chemical Engineering

Professional Experience (Experience gained on the job
during professional life):
Mandatory (MUST): 3 – 5 years of relevant experience in process system design of Industrial / Utility Boilers OR other Process Engg department of Power plant projects.

Desirable (NICE TO HAVE): Site Commissioning Experience

Functional Knowhow:
 Know and apply design methods, rules and tools to specify the systems/ components,
 Power Plant process knowledge,
 Knowledge of Interfaces,
 Good skills in the use of computer applications and computer tools,
 Good knowledge of Engineering and Design methods,
