Role Summary/Purpose

The Assembly and Test Operative will be working as part of the Global Supply Chain Organization. The Assembly and Test Operative’s main responsibility will be the assembly and test of Dissolved Gas Analysis instruments, working in a timely manner, maintaining product quality to the relevant standards. The Assembly and Test Operative will work in a flow environment based on Lean principles and will be required to cross-train facilitating flexible work practices.
Essential Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for

·  Producing and testing fine / detailed assembly’s consistently to a high standard

·  Working from procedures and specifications and associated documentation

·  Maintaining a safe and organised working environment.

·  Liaising with key stakeholders; internal departments, Team leaders and other depts. within the factory.

·  Achieving production and quality targets.

Qualifications/Requirements

·  Be safety focused with knowledge of safety and EHS awareness.

·  Experience in fine / detailed manufacturing assembly and test of subassemblies and finished product in a LEAN environment

·  Experience of PCBA test, basic fault find and repair.

·  Ability to operate electrical / electronic test software and equipment and interpret test results and identify fault conditions

·  Test and diagnostics skills

·  Ability to interpret and understand graphical data output from test system and upload data to and from databases and units under test

·  Well organised, reliable, accurate with a high attention to detail

·  Ability to understand and follow work instructions and engineering drawings , working to exacting quality standards.

·  Experience of working to deadlines , prioritising work and meeting targets.

·  Problem solving skills, showing initiative and creative thinking

·  Computer literate, with a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office

·  Basic PC Skills and ability to enter, manipulate and analyse data using Microsoft Excel and Access

·  Display a team based ethos with a can do attitude and determination to succeed

·  Good communication and interpersonal skills

·  Ability to work as part of a team and to proactively identity and resolve issues.

·  Flexibility to move between work areas as required and to work flexible hours as demand requires

·  Ability to solder terminals, connectors, cables and components, assemble cable assemblies, crimp cables and connectors.

·  Experience of assembly of material kits and production line feeding

·  Material receiving and transfer to storage locations.

·  Ability to use material handling equipment – forklift, pallet truck, cranes.

·  Ability to pack and dispatch finished product

·  Warehouse and material handling capability

·  Participate in and contribute to improvement activities and kaizen events.

·  Data gathering and reporting to Test Technicians and Engineers
