Role Summary/Purpose

The Analog Electrical Engineer position will primarily be responsible for the development of Power sub-systems used within a Magnetic Resonance (MR) system. The successful candidate will join the MR 3T RF and Power Engineering group and interface with cross functional team to design, test and implement Analog devices and power supplies as part of new product introductions. The candidate will leverage knowledge of analog design techniques and control standards to ensure a quality product.
Essential Responsibilities

Duties include (but are not limited to):
1. Write detailed functional specifications that document newly created designs and support product introduction.
2. Provide technical support to team throughout product development and implementation process
3. Supporting install base including Customer Satisfaction Opportunities, Site issues, Install and Warranty cost, Supplier design change requests etc
4. Proficient with analog electronics lab test equipment and troubleshooting techniques
5. Test and verify hardware to ensure that they meet specifications and requirements, by recording and analyzing test data
6. Model, build, test, and modify product prototypes using working models or theoretical models constructed with simulation
7. Capture electrical design schematic using an ECAD system
8. Review and approve layout done on the ECAD system
9. Effectively identify and debug issues, as well as suggest process changes or improvements
10. Participate in technical design reviews, risk assessments, FMEA etc.
11. Develop 3 phase transformers specification
12. Develop Requirements in DOORS, Sub-System Requirement Specifications and Execution
13. Engaging in all phases of new product introduction: concept, architecture, documentation, design, prototype, test, supplier interfaces, manufacturing introduction and service support
14. History of continuous development of core competencies in analog and/or power engineering field
15. Identifying and developing new opportunities to leverage Strategic Sourcing objectives and Common Technology initiatives in the MR product line
Qualifications/Requirements

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
2. Demonstrated experience working with complex analog designs and simulation tools
3. Schematic capture experience
4. Basic understanding of 3 phase power distribution

Desired Characteristics

1. Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
2. 2 years relative work experience in analog hardware
3. Working knowledge of PWA board bring-up and system integration experience
4. Excellent teamwork, coordination and communication skills
5. Self-starter, energizing, results oriented, and able to multi-task
6. Ability to meet aggressive reliability, performance, cost, serviceability, and delivery targets
7. High proficiency to interpret and explain complex technical information.
