Role Summary/Purpose

For this internship position, we are looking for a proactive and motivated person to support the GE Gas Power - Construction & Commissioning (C&C) department’s operational activities for the site execution of Aeroderivatives gas turbines. The role will support the Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) subcontracting group for Turnkey projects, ensure proper knowledge management of lessons learnt, support the Aero Leaders with their operational activities and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Responsibilities

This internship is for 1 year.

The tasks and responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

·  Search, engage and follow up the pre-qualification process of Aero EPC (Engineering/Procurement/Construction) subcontractors, supporting the M&E Contract managers

·  Support the M&E Contract Managers with the maintenance of the subcontracting documentation, including technical (e.g. BoQs, specifications) and contractual (Terms and Conditions) documentation

·  Support the M&E Contract Managers with the release of Requests for Quotations (RFQ) to potential subcontractors and assist negotiation activities

·  Collect Lessons Learnt and drive implementation into the processes

·  Ensure that the tools, plaftforms and applications for subcontracting are up-to-date

·  Manage the List of suitable Aero EPC subcontractors - per region, business model and capabilities
Aero Continuous Improvement

·  Support the improvement of the Aero processes based on site execution feedback

·  Support the creation of items in the Experience Response System platform and follow up on their resolution

·  Support the Aero Leaders in the identification of improvement opportunities, risk analysis and knowledge management

·  Support miscellaneous continuous improvement initiatives/projects as required and defined by the business
Aero Operations

·  Support the Aero execution processes (Cost, Scope, Time, Quality and EHS) and the Aero Leaders from the different regions, as may be required

·  Ensure that the manpower loading in the different GE applications is up to date and reflecting the realities of the sites

·  Ensure that the site reporting platforms have all relevant and up-to-date information from the sites. Work with the sites in securing proper flow of information

·  Ensure that the Aero Sharepoint platform has up-to-date and relevant information to internal visitors

·  Support analysis and statistics, tables and documentation creation as may be required for the Aero business and by the Aero Leaders

·  Create and distribute templates for the different Aero processes

·  Support the different C&C disciplines with tasks and assignments as may be identified and required by the business

This internship offers, among others, the possibility to learn and understand the way Turnkey power plant projects work, the content and description of the contractual documentation, the aeroderitivative gas turbine products, the different execution business concepts and models applicable to Aero projects, the technical and contractual considerations for each specific project, the spectrum of subcontractors available worldwide, the risk/liabilities and opportunities of working with subcontractors, the methods of cost calculations and the selection approaches, the requirements for the management of site activities for new power plants and the challenges for the construction and commissioning of power plants.
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Preferably Industrial or Mechanical engineering candidates, but other engineering disciplines may be considered

·  Bachelors or Masters degrees

·  Good written and spoken English language at a professional level. Spanish language profiency a plus.

·  Immediate availability

·  Only candidates from Switzerland, Europe or with a valid Swiss working permit will be considered
