Role Summary/Purpose

Plan the test system project development, execution and technical support for the introduction of processes for new product development and existing manufacturing. Support efforts to consistently improve product and process quality. Advanced Manufacturing Engineering-Test Engineer is recognized as a key technology leader within their organization. Interface with global counter-parts to achieve program goals and integrate global activities when necessary.
Essential Responsibilities

• Collaborate with team to develop & build test systems on National Instruments based test platform for new product introductions, including concept, documentation, design, prototype, test, supplier interfaces, manufacturing introduction and service
• Responsible for software/ hardware development, integration and qualification and lifecycle management
• Ensure regulatory compliance through Design Qualification. Responsible for ensuring rigor in determining processes requiring qualification, development of plans and analysis criteria, execution and final analysis and acceptance
• Drive improved product quality by identifying manufacturing issues, developing advanced manufacturing cost-effective solutions, and overseeing successful implementation into production
• Work with manufacturing leadership to identify and resolve manufacturing and quality problems related to methods, processes, tooling, equipment and product design
• Monitor and improve productivity through the use of Lean Six Sigma or related tools, while ensuring all customer commitments are met in a timely, quality and cost-conscious manner
• Participate in early focus on manufacturability in NPI and/or Advanced Technology programs. Drive rigor in process capability assessment, process layout, tooling and equipment development and QMS Design Transfer execution
• Clearly understand existing processes in order to provide support for manufacturing process technology roadmap
• Drive AME initiatives across sites while providing business-wide impact and enabling sharing of best practices across the Global Supply Chain

1. Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position
2. Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines
3. Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required
4. Knowledge and understanding of document control, design transfer, verification, validation, acceptance activity, DMR, DHR and electronic signature requirements to ensure that product, equipment, tools, processes, software, training and documentation meet requirements
Qualifications/Requirements

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) with a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with electrical fixture and test system creation or a high school degree with a minimum of 15 yrs experience in Test System fabrication, troubleshooting and system qualification.
2. Demonstrated troubleshooting, analytical and planning skills
3. Ability to work independently
4. Demonstrated strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Desired Characteristics

1. National Instruments TestStand and Labview experience 4+ yrs
2. Hands-on experience designing fixture hardware and test system software for complete test system
3. Electrical Engineering major with hands-on pneumatic and electrical fixture experience
4. Experience creating test system design documentation
5. Co-op or internship experience in Manufacturing Engineering
6. 6-sigma DMAIC & DFSS certified
7. Experiences in Process Intensive manufacturing
8. Product and Process Development experience
9. Solid working knowledge of GEHC QMS procedures for GMP
10. Experienced developing tools and templates
11. Demonstrated program or project management skills
12. Demonstrated experience owning production processes / growing capability in yield and quality
13. Experience working with global teams
