Role Summary/Purpose

The role will be responsible to design and develop embedded control software for locomotives, specially focused on engine controllers, net IO, central computing, mission critical equipment controllers, and panel obsolescence solutions. We are seeking internally motivated, analytical, and adaptive software engineers with a willingness to learn. In this role, one will demonstrate leadership in software engineering through communication and execution of business goals, programs, and processes.
Essential Responsibilities

• Be responsible for software development / maintenance of components, systems, and networks • Provide technical technical leadership for software architecture, design trade-off, platform selection, and process definition/enhancement; • Provide technical mentoring for more junior software engineers • Analyze user needs to design and code • Program (in C, C++, etc.) all applications, components, and interfaces • Work closely with the business unit to ensure application development meets product specification requirements • Work closely with other engineering teams, partners, and vendors to ensure inter-operability / reuse • Design, implement, and test software, ensuring quality specifications are met • Participate actively in design and code reviews • Drive performance and reliability enhancements • Be responsible for close interaction with customers to drive requirements and customer satisfaction
Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Electrical or Electronics Engineering
Minimum of 5 years of experience with software design and 2 years in development Technical leadership experience

Technical Expertise:
• Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical or Electronics Engineering
• Experience working on software projects for large schedule industrial control systems
• Experience on real time control software
