Role Summary/Purpose
The candidate will own the controls application cyber security coordination across Locomotive and Marine platforms, including requirements, development and remediation. The role will support the design of a diverse set of critical functions to address cyber security risks. The candidate will work with product management, customers, suppliers, engineering industry to identify and capture requirements and execute the design and architecture to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.
Essential Responsibilities
• Develop and Execute a plan to fulfill on cyber security requirements
• Conduct threat model assessments on existing and new architectures
• Work closely with policy and product management and our cyber security team to align our security measures with the industry
• Working with key stakeholders to define, develop and implement test plans to assess cybersecurity, cyber operations, emerging technologies, and advanced cyber threats.
• Coordinate delivery activity with internal and external resources to fulfill on a plan
• Report out project status to executive leadership
• Use sound engineering principles and adhere to business standards, practices, and procedures, to develop product / program requirements
• Lead/support investigation, root-cause identification, and resolution of vulnerabilities
• Ensure that the documentation of technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures
• Become the program representative for Controls and Software Engineering on cyber security programs and requisitions, managing schedule, outward communication of successes and failures
• Use various integrated development environment tools and applications to identify and troubleshoot software algorithms.
• Provide guidance and support to junior team members and help develop their knowledge of embedded systems including security.
Qualifications/Requirements
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline
• At least 5 years of experience in an engineering position
• At least 3 year of experience with cybersecurity design, architecture, or remediation
• Proficient in a high order language (i.e. C, C++, or C#)
• Encryption techniques and application
• Experience with certificate management
• Must have knowledge in object-oriented software development methodologies
• Must understand all phases of software development (Waterfall and/ Agile)
Desired Characteristics
• Masters in Computer Science, Software Engineering, CSE, or related discipline
• Experience with applying certificates for both communication and application verification
• Experience with Secure and Measured Boot on both Intel and ARM Platforms
• Integrity Measurement Architecture (IMA)
• Experience with Embedded Systems and working knowledge of embedded real-time system development
• Experience with Matlab Simulink or other Modeling tools
• Experience with Serial and Ethernet Interfaces and Network Protocols
• Experience with DDS
• Experience with Docker
• Experience with system and component level validation testing
• Proficiency in high level programing languages (C++)
• Familiarity with one or more scripting languages, such as Python
• Experience with Static Analysis tools (Coverity, Checkmarx, Clarity, or similar tools)
• Experience with computer security and vulnerability assessments, vulnerability discovery and analysis
• Experience with QNX, Greenhills, Embedded Linux, Operating system internals and driver development
• Experience with Design For Six Sigma (DFSS) tools (i.e. FMEA, Score Cards)
• Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems
• Solid oral and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
• PC proficiency
