Role Summary/Purpose

AddWorks is the customer facing consulting P&L within GE Additive. The Design Org is tasked with accelerating customer adoption of additive manufacturing through consulting on and executing design with customers across industries. Design is also tasked with managing and developing our design tools and processes, managing our vast IP portfolio, and driving growth of GE Additive’s products. Essential Responsibilities

The AddWorks Lead Designer operates as a design team member providing definition of model deliverables that meet customer, partner and program needs. In the role of Addworks Lead Designer, you will work with design engineering, supply chain and other business functional teams to deliver complex additive manufacturing product designs in a fast-paced environment, iterating on design as needed and owning the CAD geometry through design, print, and post processing. The AddWorks Lead Designer will utilize their expertise to mentor and train team members while participating in and leading business wide continuous improvement and simplification initiatives.

In addition, as the Addworks Lead Designer, you will:

·  Create definition of parts, modules, and assemblies in the form of 3D reusable models in a linked model environment, tolerance stack-ups to support analysis, manufacturing, assembly, tooling, quality and inspection within expected cost, quality and schedule

·  Work with engineering and supply chain partners to determine dimensional constraints and geometric tolerances required for proper clearances and fits while maximizing manufacturing producibility

·  Ensure all interfaces between components are established and agreed upon by Engineering design teams of mating parts and engine systems

·  Drive global team development through communication, partnering and mentoring to drive local decision making and autonomy

·  Work within the guidelines of applicable GE Policies & Procedures, Engineering Standards, Specifications, Government and Commercial Standards, and special security requirements as required

·  Continuously challenge self and team skills in functional area

·  Stay current with industry developments in one’s field of expertise

·  Work on government secured program with varying ranges of security clearance

·  Adhere to special security requirements and those pertaining to the special access environment

·  Provide direction to the organization to meet its security obligations

·  Concurrently manage multiple projects to ensure program cost, quality and schedule requirements are met

·  Actively participate in short and long-term team, section and/or business goals focused on continuous improvement and simplification

·  Utilize Lean Six Sigma principles to drive improvements to current business products and processes

·  Provide technical leadership for team members in the form of training, mentoring, talent development, and work verification

·  Manage the operational excellence of assigned program and team members (i.e. metrics, partner interaction, OTD, FTY and cost)
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (Or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of drafting experience)

·  A minimum of 3 years experience in design, drafting or CAD systems

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT :

·  Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% for the first six months with the possibility of a reduction to 25% travel thereafter
Desired Characteristics

·  A minimum of 5 years of experience is desired

·  Strong oral and written communication skills

·  Strong interpersonal skills, proven leadership skills and a positive energy

·  Expert knowledge of computer aided design (CAD), preferably in Siemens NX

·  Proven understanding of computer aided manufacturing (CAM) and manufacturing processes

·  Expert understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing as it relates to individual parts and overall assemblies (ANSI Y14.5)

·  Effective problem identification and solution skills

·  Additive design or manufacturing experience a plus, but not required
