Role Summary/Purpose

The Researcher will help advance additive manufacturing technologies, supporting additive design, machine, process, part and material development, optimization, and supporting key R&D initiatives
Essential Responsibilities

• Primary focus will be on developing additive manufacturing processes, design methodologies and materials related technologies for printing components for use in Aviation business
• Generate novel technical ideas and develop technical solutions to address the business needs for additive manufacturing technologies
• Interface with external organizations and supporting functions coordinate the efforts of project team members
Qualifications/Requirements

• Ph.D. degree or equivalent in Mechanical, Metallurgy, or Aerospace Engineering
• Demonstrate experience with metal additive manufacturing technologies such as DMLM, EBM etc.
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
• Effective problem identification and solution skills
• Experience in an R&D environment
• Demonstrated initiative to stay abreast of technology advancements
• Demonstrated analytical, experimental and problem solving skills.
• Able to work with global team and address business concerns with innovative technical solutions.
Desired Characteristics

• Project leadership skills and tracking record of managing R&D projects
• Experience with operating additive machines, including parameter development and process control
• Experience with additive simulation software
• Experience with CAD software
• Experience with topology optimization software
• Ability to identify and implement process control and process discipline methodology to the additive manufacturing processes
• Experience with machine development,
• Ability in geometry toolpath development and/or experience in a laser-CNC machine system are highly preferred.
