Role Summary/Purpose
In this role, you will perform various activities to support the actuarial department 10 hours per week during internship
Essential Responsibilities
· Develop, test and/or validate models that support reserving and experience analysis
· Gather and validate data to aid in the development of business models
· Support efforts in projecting financial results and sensitivity analysis
· Summarize and communicate results to technical and non-technical audiences
· Learn actuarial techniques and their applications
Qualifications/Requirements
· Working towards a Bachelors degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Risk Management or related field
· Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
· Experience/ability to work and complete projects in a team oriented environment
· Experience working with,proficiency in using spreadsheet software
· Must be willing to comply with pre-employment screening, including but not limited to drug testing, reference verification and background check
Desired Characteristics
· Effective verbal and written communication skills
· Good analytical and problem solving skills
· Completed junior year
· At least one actuarial exam taken
· Knowledge of databases and database queries
· Intent to attain membership in the Society of Actuaries
