Summary:

The Service Operations Engineer's primary focus is on the day to day operations associated with SafeNet's SaaS/Service based offerings. This includes the maintenance and operation of monitoring and reporting tools, deployment of new customers, troubleshooting and repair of the production systems. This person will be a major participant in a 24/7/365 on-call rotation responding to outages, degraded service warnings, and other emergencies. They will support the SaaS infrastructure for production customers, trial customers, along with R&D and QC environments in the Public Cloud (AWS).

This function is required to help support Gemalto's strategic goal of launching and growing revenue from cloud based offerings. This position will be working both independently and as a team member to meet objectives for the deployment and maintenance of services based offerings.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following :

· Participates in 24x7x365 global monitoring and incident support for SafeNet applications and infrastructure to meet or exceed customer SLAs.
· Monitors the state of the infrastructure and ensure that resources are grown/shrunk as necessary to ensure a consistent customer experience.
· Help maintain scripts and tools to provide better automation, metrics, and visibility into Operations and the state of the network.
· Helps provisioning of new customers, working to ensure proper integration with the SaaS environment.
· Documents network infrastructure, policies, and procedures for Operations.
· Responds to alerts and follow documented procedures for verifying issues, root cause determination, escalation, and resolution.
· Responsible for maintenance and upgrade of services and infrastructure supporting SaaS applications.

Qualifications :

Qualification Requirements:

Education:
Bachelor's degree or higher in CS, EE, or related field, or equivalent work experience.

Managerial Skills/Experience:

·  Experience leading customer deployments and migrations.

Technical Skills/Experience:

·  3+ years of IT / Large scale web application operations and administration on a 24/7/365 basis.
·  Experience with web service operations and delivery REQUIRED.
·  Amazon AWS and/or other cloud service provider experience REQUIRED.
·  Experience with the use, implementation, administration, and customization of monitoring and management frameworks, specifically for web services environments.
·  Familiarity with automation tools and scripting languages (Ansible, YAML) to support deployments, monitoring and operations management a plus.
·  Candidate should have experience working within a structured change management processes for highly available environments.
·  Good understanding of network protocols for routing and access, as well as firewall/security experience.
·  Industry knowledge and awareness on best practices, trends, and latest features of Internet, SaaS, Cloud delivered applications
·  Understanding of Enterprise software solutions and practices.
·  Experience in scripting (e.g. shell)
·  Hands on experience with administering, configuring, modifying on or more of:
·  Webservers; Apache, IIS
·  Operating Systems; Unix/Linux, Windows
·  Database; MySQL, Mongo, SQL server
·  Languages; Java, perl/PHP, python, web services, & Internet protocols and standards
