Configuration Management Engineer

Job description

As an Application Support and Configuration Management Engineer for the North America Federal Programs team located in Reston, you will manage the CM servers, tools, process and rules to be used by the delivery teams. You will execute the Configuration Management policies and procedures along with maintaining the Configuration Management Plan for Federal Systems projects. You will facilitate access and usage of CM tools and non-production environments. You will train teams and ensure continuous improvement of the CM practices. You will also perform process auditing and continuous integration to ensure deliverables are safe, properly archived and re-usable for future deployments. You must be able to transfer or obtain and maintain a public trust clearance for the Department of Homeland Security.

A week in the life of an Application Support and Configuration Management Engineer:
· You will execute the Configuration Management (CM) policies and procedures.
· You will track all problems and changes in product documents and software, and report changes and current configuration.
· You will manage version control tool and problem tracking systems.
· You will create and control project baselines.
· You will manage Test environments to include operation and maintenance.
· You will maintain and update Configuration Management Plan (CMP).
· You will perform configuration planning by identifying and maintaining the original configuration of requirements documentation, design documentation, software, and related documentation.
· You will support the Program Management Office (PMO) as CM manager.

Desired profile

Qualifications :

· 
·  To succeed at this job, you must have: UNIX, Windows and configuration management experience with CM tools such as Jenkins, TFS and JIRA, and software testing experience with build and release processes.
·  It would be preferred if you have experience in SVN, TFS, Jira, Redmine and shell programming, proficiency in UNIX and Windows, familiarity with UNIX system administration and VMWare environments.
·  You must be fluent in English.
·  We would like someone to join our team who is team-oriented, self-motivated, an excellent communicator and willing to occasionally work beyond a 40 hour work week.
·  You must have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other related technical disciplines.
·  You must be a U.S. citizen to obtain public trust security clearance.
·  We are looking for someone with 2 – 5 years of experience in configuration management, test support, or development.
