September 2018 Intake – EY Degree Apprenticeship in Digital and Technology Solutions (Level 6)  - Transactions Advisory Services - London

Technology at EY

Advances in technology are fundamentally changing the way the world works. Today's businesses, government and individuals are responding to shifts that would have seemed unimaginable even a few years ago.
Technology is integral to the success of virtually all organisations and drives some of the biggest challenges and decisions businesses need to make.  At EY, technology is embedded in the solutions and services we provide to our clients and underpins everything that we do.
Transactions Advisory Services at EY

Transactions Advisory Services work with major corporate and private equity clients, investment banks, large central government departments and other public sector bodies, advising them on complex strategic, commercial, financial and operational decisions.

In Transactions Advisory Services you will often be working with FTSE businesses, Private Equity clients and government departments both in the UK and internationally.  You have the potential to be working on projects that are in the broad public interest and it is not unusual for our teams to be reading about the deals they have worked on in the financial press when they become public knowledge.

Our projects often involve managing multiple stakeholders and high degrees of complexity and uncertainty.  Decision making in this environment requires strong client management and communication skills, rigorous analytical techniques and excellent data handling skills.

As part of this apprenticeship, you will progress your career faster than your peers who chose to go to university.  At the end of the programme you will be a graduate with Degree in Digital and Technology solutions with four years of practical experience. In addition, you will have built a fantastic network of people who will mentor you to ensure you reach your potential.

We are offering the opportunity to start your career straight from school in a fast-paced, rewarding job that develops practical and technical skills, preparing you for a career working on projects using data science to advise our clients. You will have early exposure to influential people ranging from CIO’s, CFO’s and other members of the client’s team.  You will build relationships with these people who will share their experiences with you.

Become an apprentice in Data Analytics

As a digital apprentice in Transaction Advisory Services, you will:
·  Work with colleagues throughout the life of an assignment, learning how to define the needs of our clients, collect and analyse data and design data-driven solutions.
·  Design and build data solutions to provide analysis on large data sets.
·  Using data to provide insight and analysis which you will share directly with clients and EY specialist teams.
·  Support the development of others in analytics, using your advanced skills to provide support, guidance and training to other EY teams.
Transactions Advisory Services at EY values innovators and people have the freedom and space to experiment and develop their own ideas. This is backed by an Innovation Awards scheme where people can win cash prizes where they demonstrate that have developed a solution that has a material impact on the business.
What support and professional qualifications will I receive?

You can expect first class training and support throughout your role.
You will spend 20% of your time over 4 years studying towards a BSc degree.  You will study with other Apprentices at [QA and receive a degree from Roehampton University] in Digital and Technology Solutions. You will build on these skills in our teams with our clients.
As well as your technical training, you'll also develop essential know-how through a range of activities. Over the 4 years you can expect to experience web-based learning, shadowing senior colleagues and team members, and training courses with our in-house experts. You'll be assigned a career counsellor on day one who'll work closely with you to identify your strengths and help you grow in your career.

A role in EY Transactions Advisory Services, combined with achieving a degree, should not be underestimated in terms of the experiences it opens up. Having gained a grounding in the IT aspects of finance industry and exposure to our large client base, you’ll have a wealth of practical experience to compound your theoretical knowledge. And this will open opportunities both inside and outside EY.

What do we look for?

You don’t need to have any prior technical experience or qualifications – we are looking for people who are passionate about technology and have a strong desire to learn.  Our degree apprenticeship offers you the chance to combine a business and technology career in a fast paced, rapidly expanding field.
