People & Culture Business Partner, EY Port Jackson Partners

  • Sydney (Sydney)
  • Accounting / Management control

Job description

There is no business-as-usual here! This is a truly unique opportunity for an exceptional HR professional to join EY Port Jackson Partners at the beginning of our journey as we build a Tier 1 strategic advisory practice with EY in Oceania.

The Covid-19 pandemic has changed some aspects of our way of working, but our strong culture of flexible and remote working has helped EY Port Jackson Partners navigate this change and remain connected with each other and our clients.

The opportunity

Working closely with the Head of People & Culture for EY Port Jackson Partners, you will play a key role in this growing business. For a generalist HR practitioner with experience working in smaller organisations, this role offers the advantages of a small firm alongside a large firm - the history and reputation of a leading boutique strategy practice, now with access to exciting opportunities as part of the global EY network.

Your key responsibilities:
·  Focus on enabling our people to deliver outstanding service to our clients, while building an exceptional career in strategy consulting
·  Take responsibility for employment lifecycle events around recruitment, onboarding, monthly reporting, performance management, career planning and remuneration
·  Support our people with coaching, tailored learning and development programs, clear comms and genuine care for their wellbeing and performance
·  Work closely with the Head of People & Culture to design, develop and manage projects and events that demonstrate our commitment to continuously developing our people and our culture
·  Think through tailored solutions to suit our business and our people, rather than implementing one-size-fits-all programs and processes
·  Actively engage with a work culture and fantastic group of people who foster and encourage intelligence, curiosity, hard work, good humour, respect, collegial support, fun and enthusiasm
·  Have access to EY’s global capabilities and resources to support your work and your career

Skills and attributes for success

·  5 years of HR Business Partner experience, ideally having supported a senior professional client base; experience of and appreciation for the challenges of a smaller organisation
·  Commercial acumen and a clear understanding of how HR can add value to the business
·  Influencing skills, and an ability to build and maintain credibility and rapport with a range of different stakeholders
·  Flexible style, with the confidence to work independently and also in a highly collaborative way, as required
·  A thoughtful, considered and creative approach to problem solving that is fact-based, delivers real insights and addresses the needs of our business
·  A clear communication style that is jargon-free and effective, with outstanding written and verbal communication
·  Attention to detail is key, as high-quality analysis and focus on details is the foundation of our work - for our clients and for our practice
·  Proficiency in Excel, reporting and analysis
·  Strong project and change management skills
·  An interest in personal learning and development and an ambition to keep improving

Ideally, you'll also have

·  Relevant HR tertiary qualifications
