The opportunity
EY’s EMEIA Tax Centre (ETC) are looking for strong tax accounting professionals to join our fast growing Global Compliance and Reporting (GCR) team.  The role will give you the opportunity to work on EY’s largest multi-country client engagements in a tax accounting and direct tax capacity.

The opportunity is for a technical specialist in US GAAP and / or IFRS tax reporting to provide compliance and advisory services.  You will support clients in their quarterly reporting process and have the opportunity to grow a tax accounting advisory book of business. 

The tax accounting portfolio will be complimented by multi-country direct tax portfolio where you will be the client’s primary point of contact.  You will be sharing insights from their direct tax data across countries, major legislative changes which need to be planned for and tax opportunities which could deliver value. 
 
Our team
You will join the GCR practice in the ETC which includes 150 professionals specializing in direct tax, tax accounting, indirect taxes, statutory reporting, bookkeeping, service management, payroll and company secretarial services.

The team is based across the EMEIA region with major hubs in the UK, Belgium, Netherlands and Poland.  Together we deploy strong multi-skilled teams working seamlessly across countries and service lines.  

The tax accounting and direct tax specialists work closely with the client group tax function.  Their role enables them to build a wide network across EY service lines and countries as they bring together all of the EY services and expertise available to meet their client needs.

Our team work exclusively on large, multi-country compliance engagements. 

 
Our clients
You will have an opportunity to work with some of EY’s largest, most complex corporate clients providing you with a continued opportunity to learn and develop.  Our clients operate in all business sectors with the exception of financial services.  There is an opportunity for you to specialize in a sector or gain experience of different sector needs. 

We partner with our clients to deliver compliance across the organization on contracts which range from 3 – 7 years in duration.  We typically work with the client’s group or regional tax function. 

Many of our clients are undergoing major change and transformation in their record to report processes.  You will have the opportunity to work with groups who have mature offshore models and those who need support transitioning to that model over time.

Your skills
We’re looking for a deep technical specialist to join our team and support the growth of our tax accounting advisory business, acting as a key role model for others in the team.  Key skills which will enable you to be successful in this role include:

·  Extensive experience in US GAAP and / or IFRS tax accounting projects
·  Self-aware and accountable – the ability to manage your portfolio and bring in other EY specialists when required
·  Corporate income tax experience (any country)
·  Track record of managing teams
·  Strong communication skills and experience working with multi-country teams
·  An ability to distill complex concepts into simple messages
·  Organized with an ability to deliver tax accounting in a short timeframe
·  Experience coaching and developing junior staff
·  Problem solving capabilities
·  Ability to manage budgets and time to deliver a quality output  
·  Accounting qualification
·  Willing to travel
