Position Summary:

This position is responsible for performing and overseeing service delivery for Finance engagements in our Service Delivery Center which is made up of high-performing, US-based resources who work closely with our experienced professionals to deliver project-based work and managed services to our financial services clients.  

Essential Functions of the Job:

This Senior Analyst position will be responsible for performing and overseeing service delivery, ensuring productions goals are met, and ensuring service quality for Finance engagements.

·  Supervising a team of Production Analysts by providing effective feedback, information, and insights to ensure associates meet production goals within quality guidelines and other service level agreements.
·  Analyzing and preparing documents describing client current and/or future state corporate finance and forecasting related processes (budgets, forecasts, performance management tracking, etc.), data, systems, methodologies, procedures governance and controls and creating deliverables describing each in the appropriate context.  
·  Quality review (Quality Control and Quality Assurance depending on project) of various services performed by Associate Analysts and Analysts (referred to here as “Production Analysts”) including but not limited to status reports, process documentation, data mapping documents, spreadsheets and detailed presentations.
·  Provides detailed review of team’s work product (i.e., associates and analysts)
·  In practice, this may include review of customer business process and technology capabilities including data architecture, systems functionality and reporting capabilities related to Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) including various forecasting and planning business activities
·  Creation of status tracking documents, timelines, project plans and other client-ready materials
·  During EPM and other product development-related engagements, analyze business requirements, develop data models and create financial planning dashboards to facilitate the development of requirements and configuration of technology solutions to address client requirements
·  Participate in internal meetings and communicate current state agency processes and tendencies
·  Contribute overall to driving efficiency within the operations at our Service Delivery Center
·  Produces consistent quality of work products/deliverables for which he/she is personally responsible
·  No material adverse findings from internal or external inspections that are directly associated with his or her role/responsibilities
·  Demonstrate the EY values by exhibiting energy, enthusiasm and the courage to lead.
·  Maintains adherence to EY’s professional responsibility requirements

Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities:

Senior Analysts perform work that requires independent judgment (including the ability to provide rationalizations for appropriate escalation and recommendations on solutions/next steps) to ensure Production Analysts perform their responsibilities in accordance with both existing policies and procedures and in accordance with EY best practices for client delivery.

Accept responsibility for delivery of engagement specific tasks as directed .

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

·  Corporate Finance business processes (budgeting, forecasting, planning, and reporting) and analytical methods use to develop a forecast and track progress against a business forecast
·  Familiarity with financial systems commonly used to enable Enterprise Performance Management (Anaplan, Oracle, Onstream, etc.)
·  Experience mapping, documenting and analyzing finance business processes
·  Experience sourcing, analyzing and documenting data for management reporting needs
·  Data analytics experience in excel (complex formulas, lookups, pivot tables, etc.)
·  Mapping data between multiple systems and tracing data lineage
·  Intermediate knowledge of finance functions and accounting principles
·  Working in Finance Subledger systems and General Ledgers
·  Developing materials for client discussions in PowerPoint
·  Proficient in the English language, including the ability to listen, understand, read and communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, in a professional environment.
·  Strong writing skills and ability to think analytically
·  Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access and/or SharePoint) and willingness to learn firm-used technologies
·  Ability to quickly understand a client’s business environment
·  Ability to provides clear, timely and constructive feedback and recognition to team members to help improve specific skills and behaviors
·  Experience promoting an inclusive work environment

Supervision Responsibilities:

Senior Analysts are responsible for two main types of supervision; quality supervision and production supervision.

In a quality supervision role (or QC), the Senior Analyst is responsible for ensuring a Production Analyst properly executes the work in accordance with a predefined set of policies/standards – this can be done fully or on a sample basis, depending on the need of the project.  The QC Senior Analyst will help guide the Production Analysts in their understanding of the guidance and their accurate execution of the work.  The QC Senior Analyst will be directly responsible for ensuring that the work produced by our firm is of a quality grade appropriate for client review before work is sent to a client.

In a production supervision role, the Senior Analyst acts as a team leader.  They are responsible for the day-to-day performance of a group of Production Analysts; including but not limited to their physical supervision (in the office on time, collaborating with their team, etc.), meeting the expectations of the engagement work (doing their assigned volume of work in a specific time period), and giving them performance feedback that ensures our production analyst are held accountable to a high standard of performance during client delivery.

Education:

A bachelor’s degree in General Business, Finance, Accounting, Liberal Arts or related fields

 

Experience:

Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience in related industry/consulting field
