Job description

EY Corporate Finance is a leading Corporate Finance advisor with a truly global presence of over 1,900 M&A professionals globally and over 1,200 M&A mandates completed in the last 5 years in Europe. We provide full-service, industry specific Corporate Finance advice including M&A, Debt Advisory, Infrastructure Projects and Capital Raising transactions to domestic and international private equity funds, corporate clients and entrepreneurs from different industries. We are part of EY’s Strategy and Transactions practice, working alongside other teams of transaction professionals.

The opportunity

 

We are currently looking for experienced Investment Banking professionals to join our growing team of 13 M&A professionals in Helsinki! Depending on your background, you may join the team as Senior Analyst or an experienced Analyst and your role and responsibilities will be shaped based on your experience.

Following EY’s sector driven focus, you will be part of one of our industry sector teams and have a significant responsibility of developing the Corporate Finance business within that sector. This will give you an excellent opportunity to develop yourself into a strong Corporate Finance professional of a specific sector.

 

Your key responsibilities

 

As a Senior Analyst or Analyst, you will be in a key role in our dynamic Corporate Finance team and work with local and international clients. You will carry out your part in the M&A deal generation, execution and project management, and depending on your level of experience, guide and support the younger professionals within the team.

To qualify for the role, you must have

• 1+ years of relevant work experience in financial advisory (e.g. investment banking, private equity, strategy consultancy, leveraged finance or corporate M&A / business development role)
• Fluent communication skills in Finnish and English – both written and oral
• Suitable academic degree (e.g. M.Sc. in Finance, Accounting, Industrial Engineering or similar)
• Strong financial modelling skills grounded on well-developed understanding of financial statements
• Solid skills in Excel and PowerPoint

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Track record of working on both buy-side and sell-side in M&A processes or capital market transactions
• Experience in preparation and delivery of pitches, client proposals, project materials such as IMs and valuation analyses
• Interest in client facing work and a sales-oriented mindset
• Prior sector / industry knowledge is considered as an advantage
• Experience from leading and mentoring younger professionals
