The Opportunity:

Management of risk is fundamental to the successful delivery of our services to clients, and the maintenance of our reputation.  The world in which we operate continues to grow more complex to navigate, with dramatic macroeconomic and geopolitical shifts, continual and fast-paced change, including rapid advances in technology, and new expectations of the future of work, which are changing our clients and their needs, and changing EY.  NextWave, our global strategy capitalises on this change, it’s ambition being to deliver long term value to our clients, our people and society.  While this provides exciting opportunities, growth in this environment creates new and evolving risks.  Agile and creative risk management will be needed if the firm is to successfully navigate the challenges it will face.  Central to this will be the role of the Enterprise Risk Services team in EY’s Risk Management function

 

Due to the expansion of EY’s enterprise risk team, there is a vacancy at Analyst level in the Enterprise Risk Services team, operating within the wider Risk Management (RM) group. This is an important role, being part of the team responsible for managing the risk framework, risk strategy and the identification and assessment of risks and controls across the firm.

Your Key Responsibilities:

·  Designing, developing, implementing and rolling out new processes and tooling.
·  Recruitment and onboarding team members.
·  Deputising for Risk Framework Managers where appropriate.
·  Maintaining and making updates to the Risk Framework: the documented policies, structures, processes, methodology, tools, and taxonomy.
·  Developing communications and training for the use of the framework.  Immediate tasks will be the assessment of training needs, creation of a training curriculum, development and rollout of specific training modules to the firm.
·  Defining activities for assessing risk culture in the firm, working with other involved functions and the Service Lines.  This will include processes for assessing culture, analysing results, and reporting; identifying areas for improvement, and developing plans to address.
·  Developing communications for progress in strengthening risk management to governance forums.
·  Establishing productive working relationships with Risk professionals withing the business and Risk Management.

To qualify for the role you must have:

·  Understanding of risk frameworks and a risk function in organisations, preferably including the measurement, monitoring and reporting of risks.
·  Experience of risk management.
·  Experience of working in a global organisation with exposure of autonomous UK businesses.
·  Knowledge of professional services firms, of the typical range of businesses operated and an understanding of the business model and commercial consideration.

Ideally, you’ll also have:

·  Strong personal communication skills, capable of dealing with wide a range of people.
·  Planning and organisational skills to create implementation approaches and plans including supporting prioritising key areas of responsibility, tasks and projects.
·  Ability to deal with problems in a practical and common-sense way, proactively applying judgment when required.
·  Able to establish credibility, respect and trust in their working relationships and internal networks, particularly with the members of the Risk Community.
·  Able to design elements of the risk framework and of processes in Enterprise Risk, and to implement the required change.
