DevOps Engineer

Position Description
CGI is eagerly looking to add DevOps Engineers to add to our team. We are changing the way our clients develop software, and we are looking for highly skilled and energetic people to join us on this journey. Our DevOps Engineers are technical experts who know the tools inside and out. They will work onsite with our clients’ teams and demonstrate by doing.

Who Are You?
You are both a technical genius, and a consulting mastermind. You might come from a systems administration, or a development background, but love the challenge that DevOps brings. At the end of the day, you just want to make things work, and you understand all the ins and outs of the new tools. You’ve built, configured, and run CI/CD pipelines to support teams and their code.

Your future duties and responsibilities
• Introduce client development teams to DevOps practices and culture, and work directly with DevOps tools
• Act as an Agile and DevOps change agent
• Improve, maintain and manage a continuous delivery system
• Automate system and environment provisions through code, including Infrastructure as Code Ownership of infrastructure build and change
• Manage release notes standards
• Partner with stakeholders to ensure continuous and timely delivery
• Ability to integrate with the development and operations team?

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• Experience with Continuous Integration orchestration (Bamboo, Jenkins)
• Practical usage of various source control systems (Git, SVN)
• Understanding of Repository management applications (BitBucket, GitHub)
• Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Salt)
• Develop and structure infrastructure of software as code experience, using SCM provisioning tools such as Ansible, Puppet, etc.
• Understanding of containerization (Docker, OCI)
• Must be comfortable with automation, and familiar with the end to end build and deployment processes
• Building effective release processes
• Have a technical passion in DevOps practice
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in the field of Computer Science, Systems or Engineering
