Transactions Associate Partner Opportunity
We are seeking a Associate Partner for the actuarial transactions team covering non-life underwriters and intermediaries. The practice is growing and successful – the team advise on a broad range of transactions from smaller portfolios in run off through to multi billion dollar public company transactions. Our clients include large insurance groups, major financial sponsors and entrepreneurial growth oriented businesses.
The team includes a number of dedicated, seasoned qualified actuaries with experience of successfully delivering day to day deals as well as a broader pool of resources within EY’s best in class actuarial team. Most of our projects go beyond typical actuarial due diligence and the team is integrated with EY’s broader transactions practice offering strategic, financial and operational advice. We work on the sell side and the buy side.

Your key responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include coordination of the transactions business, leading project teams delivering assignments, being accountable for key client relationships and business origination.
You will also be on the front to respond to relevant industry issues internally and represent EY in the market. There will also be an opportunity to work on other assignments within the actuarial group.
You will develop the team’s capabilities supporting transactions assignments with a focus on commercial acumen.
To qualify for the role you must:
Experience of managing a diverse, high performing team and of developing commercial relationships or business origination.
Experience in M&A working with a deal team through the lifecycle of executing transactions
The candidate will need to be comfortable with the core areas of actuarial due diligence covering reserves, regulatory balance sheets and reviewing business plans
We would expect the candidate to have experience of some (but certainly not all) of the following: strategy development, market analysis and market entry, distribution management, financial planning, ratings advisory, capital optimisation / (re)structuring, reinsurance optimisation
The candidate does not need to be a qualified actuary, but needs to be able to demonstrate a suitably technical track record to lead the delivery of actuarial work
