Job description

Technology at EY

Advances in technology are fundamentally changing the way the world works. Today's businesses, government and individuals are responding to shifts that would have seemed unimaginable even a few years ago.
Technology is integral to the success of virtually all organisations and drives some of the biggest challenges and decisions businesses need to make.  At EY, technology is embedded in the solutions and services we provide to our clients and underpins everything that we do.

Assurance at EY

Assurance plays a vital role in maintaining public confidence in the world's capital markets and giving other stakeholders confidence in the financial information reported by our clients. Our Assurance team at EY work closely with some of the world’s most influential organisations and governments, understanding their businesses and the risks they face to help them be more successful.

EY will give you unrivalled experiences and insights to allow you to specialise your expertise as you    develop your career across a range of clients.
As part of this apprenticeship you will progress your career faster than your peers who chose to go to university.  At the end of the programme you will be a graduate with Degree in Digital and Technology solutions with four years of practical experience. You will also have built a fantastic network of people who will mentor you to ensure you reach your potential.

You will get early exposure to influential people ranging from CIO’s, CFO’s and other members of the client’s team.  You will build relationships with these people who will share their experiences with you.

Become an apprentice in Digital Innovation

You will be part of Assurance – offering the opportunity to start your career straight from school in a fast-paced rewarding job that develops practical and technical skills, preparing you for a career working on leading assurance projects within the business worlds. You will:
·  Work alongside your Assurance colleagues checking the accuracy of our clients financial statements
·  Understanding our clients businesses, IT processes, infrastructure and IT strategy
·  Testing the controls which our client have embedded within their IT processes to ensure they are working as expected
·  Performing data extraction and data analysis using our EY computer programmes to further understand the numbers within the financial statements
·  Gaining experience in opportunities such as designing and prototyping emerging technology solutions (eg developing web and mobile apps)
·  Helping clients deal with the complex issues of fraud, regulatory compliance and business disputes
·  Supporting clients in managing, processing and analysing vast quantities of electronic evidence and data

·  What support and professional qualifications will I receive?

You can expect first class training and support throughout your role.
You will spend 20% of your time over 4 years studying towards a BSc degree.  You will study with other Apprentices at QA and receive a degree from Roehampton University in Digital and Technology Solutions. You will build on these skills in our teams with our clients in between your block release sessions.

As well as your technical training, you'll also develop essential know-how through a range of activities. Over the 4 years you can expect to experience web-based learning, shadowing senior colleagues and team members, and training courses with our in-house experts. You'll be assigned a career counsellor on day one who'll work closely with you to identify your strengths and help you grow in your career.

A role in EY Assurance, combined with achieving a degree, should not be underestimated in terms of the experiences it opens up. Having gained a grounding in the IT aspects of finance industry and exposure to our large client base, you’ll have awealth of practical experience to compound your theoretical knowledge. And this will open opportunities both inside and outside EY.
