ENGIE are recruiting for 2 x Developers to be based in Quadrant, The Silverlink North, Cobalt Business Park, North Tyneside, NE27 0BY

These are permanent, full time roles working 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm and on offer will be a salary of £25,000 to £34,000 per annum dependant on skills and experience.  Both roles will report into the Head of Development.

Engie is working with North Tyneside Council on an extensive programme of change, the aim of which is to make the council's online services easier for residents and businesses to use.

Working as part of a multi-organisation, multi-disciplinary agile team, you will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of a range of modern back-end services or public-facing web applications.

The main duties and responsibilities are:

·  As a Developer in one of our digital teams you will share responsibility for the delivery of a suite of public facing or back-end web services, applications and analysis functionality for one of our public sector clients.
·  Developers are expected to support the delivery of business requirements by contributing to team output and reflecting best practice as outlined by programme leadership in the areas of system design, security, accessibility, and usability with reference to industry best practice.
·  Developers are expected to reflect the quality expectations outlined by team leadership and actively take a role in their own personal and professional development through engagement with objective setting and responding to feedback.
·  Candidates should ably demonstrate an ability to understand business requirements and the wider context within which they are developing.

Qualifications and experience required:

For both roles you will have a first/higher degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or extensive experience delivering public-facing front-end or back-end applications.

You should have experience within one or more of the following areas for the front-end role:

·  Developing within modern cloud-based infrastructures, such as Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services, and Microsoft Azure.
·  Developing modern, standards compliant, public-facing web applications, using Node.js, React, Bootstrap, SASS/LESS, and related technologies.
·  Testing interfaces for usability and accessibility, across a range of device classes.
·  Developing using CI/CD pipelines, and deploying to the likes of Docker, Kubernetes, and Google App Engine.
You should have experience of one or more of the following areas for the back-end role:

·  Developing within modern cloud-based infrastructures, such as Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services, and Microsoft Azure.
·  Developing service-based back-end platforms, exposed through restful/RPC/GraphQL APIs.
·  Developing web-services in Python.
·  Working with SQL and NoSQL databases (we primarily use MySQL), and in-memory storage (Memcached and Redis).
·  Developing using CI/CD pipelines, and deploying to the likes of Docker, Kubernetes, and Google App Engine.
