Job description

ENGIE are recruiting for a Technical Supervisor to be based in Cowley, Oxford, OX4 6NL. This is a permanent full time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a salary banding of £38,665 - £40,665 per annum, dependent upon skills and experience

The normal working hour will be Monday to Friday, 07.00am until 16.00pm. 

Reporting in to the Contract Manager with responsibility for Supervising the day to day operation and maintenance, including development of the contract. In this role you will operate and maintain the plant at the site in line with existing procedures, thereby fulfilling site health, safety, environmental, quality and customer service targets. This will include identifying areas for continual improvement.

Main Responsibilities/Duties Include:

·  To ensure that all areas under their control are effectively operated to ensure that all third party contractors who carry out work on the site do so in a safe and professional manner and abide by the relevant Company procedures and site specific procedures where applicable
·  To follow the company procedures and standards as expressed in the Company Handbooks
·  To be aware of the key financial targets for the sites and, in conjunction with the OM,  to meet his responsibilities in the most cost effective manner
·  To complete all administrative functions correctly and efficiently, either paper log books or by using appropriate IT software, e.g. Maintenance Management System (PLANON)
·  To become fully familiar with all Company and site procedures, which affect him and carry out all responsibilities accordingly
·  To represent the Company well to customers and external agencies, by reasonable dress and demeanour and ensure the site and all Company property are maintained in a clean and tidy condition.
·  To maintain a good working relationship with customer representatives and work in a manner which ensures that all aspects of the service agreement between ENGIE and the customer are delivered with the requisite levels of professionalism
·  To assist in delivering those aspects of the Company Performance Contract as they relate to this site, including satisfying all the requirements of the Company and the contract with the Customer, in line with existing procedures,by:
·  Fulfilling site health, safety and environmental, quality and customer service targets
·  Ensuring the safe and efficient operation of existing plant and equipment and diagnosing faults as required
·  Safely and efficiently maintaining (or supervising the maintenance by third party contractors of) existing plant and equipment
·  Safely and efficiently installing (or supervising the installation by third party contractors of) new plant and equipment
·  To support site (shift team) in response to breakdowns or failures of the equipment outside of normal working hours (call outs) and attend site as necessary
·  To be familiar with and understand the site contingency plans for dealing with emergency situations
·  To conform to ENGIE standards, rules and procedures
·  To carry out scheduled maintenance tasks, repairs and operations of equipment and services in accordance with best pracrice
·  To ensure that all third party contractors that are requested to carry out work on site, do so in a safe and professional manner and abide by any company or site specific procedures
·  To ensure that the Contracts Manager is kept informed of all aspects of safety performance, plant performance and customers circumstances that may impact upon the safe, efficient, reliable and cost effective operation of the plant and smooth operation of the plant
·  To be familiar with all Company and site procedures, which affect him/her, assist the Contract Manager in the completion of all administrative tasks identified by the ENGIE quality systems or as required by the Customer
·  To assist in producing Method Statements and Risk Assessments
·  To assist with the planning of the statutory insurance inspections
·  To report all incidents and accidents, including near misses to the Contracts Manager
·  To complete all administrative functions correctly and promptly
·  To seek opportunities to enhance the Company’s relationship with its existing customers and develop business potential
·  To lead initiatives and carry out other duties and projects as delegated or instructed by the Contracts Manager

Qualifications or Required Experience:

·  Apprenticeship , primary Mechanical or Electrical trade qualifications and substantial experience within a building Mechanical & Electrical services environment
·  Legionella Awareness
·  Health & Safety Awareness
·  Ability to effectively work under pressure
·  Ability to diagnose faults and recommend appropriate solutions
·  Ability to communicate at all levels both verbally and in writing
·  Ability to operate in a very customer focused environment
·  Able to work alone and Supervise a team of Technical operatives
·  Able to produce quality reports
·  Proficient in use of IT software Word/Excel etc.
·  BMS operator level experience (advantageous)
·  IPAF 3a & 3b (or previously held, advantageous)
·  IOSHH or NEBOSH (Advantageous)
·  Commercial/Industrial Gas Safe – (Qualification advantageous)
·  Commercial/Industrial F Gas – (Qualification advantageous)
·  Pressure Systems and Regulations – (Qualification advantageous)
·  IEE Regulations 17th Edition (if electrically biased)
·  AP15 - HV Qualified up to 11KV. (if electrically biased)
·  AP12 - LV Qualified. (if electrically biased)
·  Confident and positive
