ENGIE's Business Unit for the Middle-East, South & Central Asia and Turkey (MESCAT) headquartered in Dubai, has activities in large scale power generation and water desalination, gas retail & distribution, LNG and energy services for B2B customers. Leveraging on its strong positions, the BU is developing its presence in renewable energies, in the gas value chain and in energy efficiency services.

Objective

• The Strategy Officer will be responsible to be able to do independent research and support to Senior Strategy Manager towards MESCAT BU regional strategy.

Reporting line

• The Strategy Officer will report to Senior Strategy Manager.

Job responsibility

• Provide support to strategic projects and studies and coordinate projects such as Executive Leadership Sessions, country days, market analysis,
• Lead and support the desktop research in Identifying and prioritizing target countries and specific business models.
• Support in providing strategic and financial analyses for new businesses and innovation to assess viability and impact of the business, prepare advance notices & investment notes for the Management Team's review.
• Assist and support foresight planning.
• Prepare strategic reports/visions/implementation plans and consolidate information to support decision making.
• Understand the industry dynamics, competition, products within the sector.
• Responsible to implement internal department controls on quality of information provided to external & internal stakeholders.
• Support ESR & communication team to ensure Quality of reports, business plans analysis, markets assessments.
• Collaboration with other business units and corporate strategy in terms of reporting to the group.
• Support the BU cultural transformation and enhance innovation support on initiatives like digitalisation etc.
• Benchmarking within the Group by building network with peers.
• Follow up Corporate policies related to objectives.
• Create and maintain libraries to structure internal data & tools.

• Master's degree in commercial and marketing or business and administration

Experience/ Skills

• Experience in marketing, strategy and commercial B2B.
• Analytical skills.
• Team player who's also a proactive and independent thinker.
• A strong interest for analytical studies and business plans.
• Deadline driven, organized and able to multi-task.
• Experience with analysis, and interpretation of qualitative and quantitative data and statistical analysis program.
• Excellent excel skills.
• Experience with client segmentation for implementation of new products.
• Outstanding written and verbal communications skills in both English and French (Arabic is an advantage)
• Good knowledge of economics and understanding of power systems and large infrastructures assets.
• Education and/or work experience in an emerging economy.

Location

• Dubai HQ.

The Hay Level for this position is 16 and will be offered on local terms and contract.
