The Role: Solutions Architect
Purpose
Engie is organizing its energy and services businesses to deliver an integrated solutions platform in North America (NA). The Solution Architect is the technical lead to the solutions sales team, responsible for providing technical analysis, and assembling integrated solution offerings for C&I and Public sector clients. This position will work closely with functional experts within the NA BU as well as centers of excellence and expertise across the Engie Group worldwide. The Solutions Architect will optimize outcomes for the client, utilizing both internal commercial and technical capabilities as well as external partners in order to deliver a compelling ‘Energy as a Service’ offering. A successful solution will save clients time and money; improve resiliency and productivity of their operations; and achieve sustainability objectives.

Essential Job Functions
· Integrated solutions catalogue— Develop in liaison with Solutions sales team, the BU and the centers of expertise around the Group, a comprehensive sales offering that accounts for environment, client, commodity and regulatory conditions around the country.
· Opportunity qualification— Work with Solutions sales team, to record and develop integrated solutions sell opportunities, and identify and/or qualify those opportunities through technical and commercial screening.
· Initial engagement through preliminary design— Perform detailed analysis and modeling to identify the solution range for an integrated solution, working closely with Structuring and other internal functional expertise, and technical vendors as needed.
· Lead development of solution design proposal for client— Manage the design process, validation and drive close coordination of large multiple point solutions team during tender process; provide consultancy services; prequalification; and presentation and proposal support to the Sales lead. Also, prepare complex models outlining operational and economic characteristics of projects, project risks and customer benefits, liaising with Structuring and Bid Proposal colleagues to document the project solution for a client.
· Manage approvals on optimized design— Present technical and financial Integrated Solutions proposal to ENGIE NA senior management for governance approvals and to the clients during the dialogue sessions as part of the tender process.
· Stay current on latest DER technologies and digital technologies for optimizing energy, the economics of distributed versus grid energy and trade-offs.
· Follow industry trends and competitor activities, including regulatory/financial incentives, power and gas pricing and structured financing transactions.
· Serve as local liaison and bridge builder between NA BU and experts within the ENGIE worldwide network to identify optimal technology configurations, share best practices and competitive knowledge; and develop case studies in order to advance the business.
· Ensure compliance around all ENGIE NA policies, including an emphasis on safety and environmental compliance.

· Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy.
· Ability to use personal computer, mobile device, calculator, etc.
· Could involve some lifting. Education/Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related field, from an accredited institution. A Master’s Degree in Energy Systems Engineering or Energy Systems Optimization is a plus.
· 10+ years of design experience, technical sales or development in the field of energy services, cogeneration, distributed renewables and energy supply.
· Knowledge of central and distributed generation economics; distributed load control and value of lost load; and grid economics is important.
· Knowledge of technical capabilities and economics for building automation, smart lighting, HVAC, biomass, geothermal, solar, wind and storage technologies.
· Proven expertise developing and using energy models for optimizing systems of energy load and resources, and developing workable solutions.
· Experience developing joint offers in a large organization working in conjunction with other BUs including but not limited to energy management, energy supply, compliance services, energy self-generation, and demand management.
· Commercial mind-set, strong prioritization, communication and organizational skills
· Ability to quickly work into new tasks and accommodate with new circumstances in a dynamic environment
· Be seen as an expert, and respected by peers, clients and within industry.
