Job description

ENGIE are recruiting for a SHEQ Advisor Post Commencment to be based in Hebburn, NE13 2EX. This is a permanent full time role working Monday to Thursday 08:00 - 16:30 and Friday 08:00 - 15:30. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

The main purpose of the role is to support the company in the operation of company systems ISO standards covering the effective management of quality, health, safety and environment. This will include extensive working on live projects across a wide geographical area. These projects will largely be residential sites working with Houseing Assosiations and and local Authorities. 

On a day to day basis you will ensure sites comply with statutory requirements and company standards whilst providing relevant guidance and advice, carry out pre-planned site audits to ensure compliance providing feedback via the company’s reporting system. You will need to highlighting areas where poor practice and/or significant risk have occurred. Where necessary preventing works continuing on site, site saftey is always the priority. You will need to assist in the development of risk assessments relating to SHEQ on a site to site basis proactively working with operational teams during the project lifecycle to ensure that SHEQ is considered at all stages and that relevant control measures are identified. You will need to undertake site visits on variouse sites accross a wide geographical area in the North East, working with the construction teams where key milestones have been identified during programme. Auditing subcontractor paperwork and safe systems of work during construction phase is essential.

As an experienced SHEQ advisor it is essential that you have a NEBOSH Diploma or the equivalent, you will also have extensive knowledge of CDM 2015. Report writing is a large part of the role and you will need to be able to demonstrate up to date CPD. You will also need a Full UK Driving Licence.

It would be an advantage if you also had experience of operating an OHSAS 18001/ISO 14001/ISO 9001 based systems. Also specialist knowledge in a relevant subject area such as waste, Carbon foot printing, asbestos, scaffolding, fire or gas safety
