Job description

ENGIE are recruiting for a SAP BPC Solution Team Leader to be based in ENGIE SSC Newcastle, Office Q3, Quorum Business Park, Benton Lane, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE12 8EX. This is a permanent full time role working 37,5 hours per week, Monday - Friday 09:00 - 17:00. On offer is a salary banding of £30 000 - £40 000, dependent upon skills and experience, bonus and benefits package. The role reports into the Chief Accountant Transition.


General Overview:  

·  The role is critical to ensuring accurate, complete and timely financial reporting for the entire UK BU, which is growing rapidly, generating revenues in excess of £3bn and more than 20,000 employees.
·  The BPC Service Desk is the outward facing part of the wider BPC team, maintaining contact with the growing user community of more than 100 business users, mainly qualified accountants.
·  The SAP BPC platform runs on SAP’s state of the art HANA in memory database and is provided by ENGIE in France to the UK BU.  This role will need to build good relationships with ENGIE France to ensure any issues with the platform are raised and resolved effectively.
·  The role is a team leader role for the BPC Service Desk team based in our Newcastle Shared Service Centre.  It is a line manager role, currently managing one direct report.
Main Responsibilities/Duties Include:


The role is responsible for:

·  Effective and efficient management of the BPC application and management of the BPC Service Desk which supports the solution;
·  Maintaining the accuracy and availability of data held within SAP Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC), the Enterprise Performance Management system used by the Finance function of ENGIE’s UK Business Unit (BU);
·  Compliance with master data standards within the underlying SAP ERP System, thereby ensuring BPC can report reliably;
·  Effectively communicating with business end users and stakeholders;
·  Collecting business requirements for the development of an evolving powerful reporting system to manage a complex and diverse BU operating in the Energy and Services markets;
·  Contributing effectively to the solution development process: identifying business requirements, specifying functionality, designing, building, testing, documenting and training solutions.

Required Qualifications or Experience:  

·  Given the financial nature of the solution the successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with a minimum of one year’s post qualification experience.
·  You will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the technical skills required to maintain and develop such a reporting system, such as an understanding reporting structures and master data management principles.
·  You will have experience of SAP ERP and ideally previous experience administering SAP BPC, or similar multi-dimensional reporting systems.
·  You will be an effective communicator, able to use appropriate channels to convey information.
·  Previous experience of help desk processes and a line manager role would be advantageous.
