Job description

ENGIE are recruiting for a Multi Skilled Engineer to be based in 100 Parliament Street London SW1A 2BQ.

 

This is a permanent full time role (working 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday 8.00am-5.00pm) and on offer will be a salary of £26,000 to £32,000 per annum.  This role will report into the Supervisor.

 

To be successful in this role you must provide the following:

·  Minimum of 3 year history of employment (including information which can be verified for any gaps)
·  If you do not have 3 years previous employment, a professional reference must be provided (obtained from a Medical Practitioner, Officer of the Armed Forces, Teacher, Lecturer, Lawyer, Bank Manager, Civil Servant etc)
·  Proof of identity & eligibility to work in the UK which must include :
·  Photographic I.D - Passport or Driving Licence.
·  Passport and all relevant work permits
·  or NI Number information / proof and full Birth certificate
·  If no legal photographic documentation is owned then a passport photo which has been signed and verified by any of the above professionals will be required. This needs to show their title, signature and contact details.
·  2 proofs of address from within the last 3 months (i.e. council tax bill, bank statement, utilities bills).
·  Any required qualifications or driving licence if required for the role.

The main duties and responsibilities are:

·  A role has become available on a prestigious government facilities management contract for a multi-skilled engineer / handyman.  The successful candidate will be required to have proven previous experience of planned preventative and reactive maintenance and will be required to undertake various maintenance and repair activities, including minor carpentry repairs, painting and decorating and minor plumbing works.  We will also expect the candidate to take on our water management responsibilities.  Experience in this area is preferential but not essential as training will be provided. 
·  The successful engineer will be site based, covering one very large, Grade II* listed government office building in Central London.   The role is a for a day engineer, working 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday.  Main responsibilities will be following a PPM schedule, ensuring they are completed on time as well as taking on relevant reactive tasks.
·  Working as part of a wider engineering team, there will be a requirement for the successful candidate to be flexible and provide support in various areas when requested.

Candidate must:-

·  Possess good communication skills and be a team player
·  Have experience of PPM and reactive maintenance
·  Be able to demonstrate previous experience of dealing with PPMs and reactive maintenance
·  Have the ability to manage their time effectively
·  Have a flexible approach to working

·  Experience in water management practices preferable
·  Experience in handyman type work essential
·  Knowledge and previous experience of building services
·  Ability to act on own initiative
·  Full Clean Driving licence
·  Ability to work with different people
·  Be practical and demonstrate good common sense
·  Currently have CTC clearance/be able to gain CTC clearance if not currently possessed For this role you must have evidence of right to work in the UK.
