Job description

ENGIE are recruiting for a Marketing & Communications Officer  to be based at Hebburn, NE31 2EX, with regular travel to offices and sites across the region. This is a permanent full time role working 7.5 hours per day, Monday - Friday. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle  and benefits package.


General Overview:

The role of the Marketing & Communications Officer is to assist with the coordination of all aspects of communications activity (including PR, marketing, awards, events, internal communications, branding) in line with the regional and Group strategies. To understand, implement and adhere to the company SHEQ policy and strategy. Reporting into the Regional Marketing & Communications Manager.  
Main Responsibilities/Duties Include:

Public relations/media enquiries/external communications:

·  Assist with creating and delivering effective PR plans 
·  Research, write, edit and approve press releases
·  Assist with responding to media enquiries, co-ordinating interviews etc.
·  Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients across the region
·  Liaise with clients, site/customer care teams etc. to keep up to date with potential good news stories
·  Act as the first point of contact for press enquiries, in the absence of the RMCM.
·  Assist with the research and production of project newsletters and quarterly client e-newsletter
Awards

·  Research relevant awards to create and maintain an annual calendar of awards
·  Research and write award submissions
Events

·  Work with MC and BD teams to research relevant events and exhibitions, and to create and maintain an annual calendar of events
·  Assist with booking and coordinating events/exhibitions
·  Manage the booking of event display materials, e.g. pull-ups, exhibition stands
·  Internal communications
·  Lead on researching and producing Northern region staff newsletter
·  Assist with researching and producing content for other newsletters
·  Assist with researching and coordinating internal campaigns and events
Corporate Social Responsibility/Sponsorship:

·  Assist the Social Value/CSR teams with the promotion of assemblies, workshops, mock interviews etc. school engagement
Marketing:

·  Assist with researching, planning and delivery of marketing campaigns
·  Assist with the research and production of corporate/promotional literature, leaflets, etc.
·  Research and produce case studies
Branding and merchandise:

·  Provide advice and guidance on company branding/logos - act as a ‘brand guardian’.
·  Assist with rebranding of existing documents etc.
·  Manage stock of branded merchandise - liaise with suppliers to re-order, handle deliveries, and co-ordinate distribution of materials, when necessary.
Design:

·  Design and amend templates for a wide range of documents, including newsletters, invites, posters, adverts, presentations etc.
·  Liaise with design and print agencies
Photography:

·  Assist with the booking of professional photographers
·  Occasional basic photography
·  Maintain the ENGIE image library, ensuring images are appropriate and ‘on brand’
·  Upload images to the Group Digital Asset Management system, when appropriate.
Misc:

·  Identify opportunities for effective advertising 
·  Provide Northern region content for intranet, social media etc.
·  Process departmental invoices, cheque and BACS requests, ensuring any payments are recorded and costed to the appropriate budget. 
·  Research and production of statistics and information

Required Experience & Qualifications: 

·  Degree level qualification in marketing/PR/communications or similar (or equivalent relevant experience) 
·  Experience and an understanding of the social housing or construction industry would be an advantage, but not essential for the right candidate
·  Excellent standard of written English with accurate spelling and grammar
·  Excellent communication skills, able to communicate at all levels
·  High level of planning and organisational skills
·  Ability to work to tight deadlines under pressure
·  Flexible and able to prioritise a changing ‘to do’ list
·  Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Email 
·  Knowledge of Adobe InDesign and Photoshop would be an advantage but is not essential as training will be provided
·  Ability to work both as a team and independently using own initiative 
·  Full, clean driving license For this role you must have evidence of right to work in the UK. There is no re-location package with this job role.
