ENGIE are recruiting for a ICT Security Officer to be based in North Tyneside. This is a permanent full-time role working Monday to Friday. On offer is a competitive salary, and benefits package.

Work an area of the ICT operational team in order to deliver the most effective and efficient service in line with key metrics in order to deliver KPI targets, excellent customer outcomes and support increased profit margins. To drive productivity and deliver high quality, cost-effective services through supporting continuous improvement. The post holder will be required to work flexibly across the service to respond to the changing needs of the service.

The ICT Security Officer (ICTSO) is responsible for the day to day security of the North Tyneside IT infrastructure. The ICTSO will ensure that necessary hardware and software infrastructure are maintained to the standards of the day and carry out proactive oversight activities, including investigation of log/alert anomalies.

Main Responsibilities/Duties Include:

·  Planning
·  Plans ICT security support activities

·  Financial Responsibilities
·  Investigate costs of security products and work within budget for security related projects

·  Operational Responsibilities:
·  Ensure the integrity of the North Tyneside Council infrastructure, by providing appropriate security measures are in place, such as:
·  Firewalls
·  Email and Internet content filters
·  Intrusion detection systems
·  Appropriate logging of activity
·  Organizing and responding to penetration testing
·  Regularly convene the Security Forum group ensuring that relevant policies are kept current in the ever changing ICT environment.
·  Assist in the management, installation, maintenance and development of the security infrastructure hardware.
·  Assist in the management of security infrastructure hardware performance and capacity and make recommendations for improvements.
·  Diagnose and resolve security infrastructure problems, ensuring that account is taken of agreed levels of service and the needs for quality, security, availability and safety, utilizing appropriate specialized techniques, tools, methods or standards.
·  Provide detailed advice and guidance to customers in the use of systems, products and services, to meet business requirements.
·  Provide advice and guidance in the planning phases of information systems, to ensure that infrastructure requirements are reflected in the overall specification.
·  Work with technical and non-technical customer representatives, to determine needs and identify opportunities.
·  Define, document and execute projects, actively participating in all phases. Identify, assess and manage risks to the success of the project.
·  Evaluate new hardware and software, providing management with reports on its potential use within the Council.
·  Assist in the training and development of staff. Provide guidance and advice to colleagues.
·  Assist in the development of standards for new infrastructure products and installation procedures.
·  Responsible for effective asset management of the ICT assets within area of expertise.

·  Provide a high quality, customer focussed service that is responsive to customer needs
·  Responds to requests for support to in a timely manner and according to agreed SLAs and procedures
·  Ensures users and other interested parties are kept informed of progress and that corrective action is taken to avoid delays

·  Leadership and People Management (or Teamwork)
·  Ensures that together the team develops effective working relationships at all levels by simplifying complex technical messages and acting as an advocate of IT both externally and internally
·  Pro-actively contributes to overall team objectives, responding effectively to new directives
·  Ensures that together the team is focused on achieving results using all resources available from initiation through to delivery and feels comfortable to challenge and be challenged
·  Actively promotes and encourages team working across the IT function, in particular establishing an excellent working relationship with the service Desk and other support teams.
·  To support the ICT management team.
·  Ensure behaviours are aligned with ENGIE’s core values and competencies.

Required

Qualifications:

Essential:

·  Graduate level or equivalent with experience of the application of relevant tools in a multidisciplinary ICT organisation.
·  Desirable:
·  Prince2 Foundation or equivalent project management experience
·  Completed Higher Education in ICT related area.
·  Project Management qualification
·  ICT Security-related professional qualification (e.g. CISSP/CISM)
·  Foundation Certificate in ITIL Service Management or IT Networks (e.g. CCNA/CCNP)

Experience:

Essential:

·  Demonstrable experience working in appropriate field.
·  Evidence of a successful track record in a support role.
·  Evidence of key involvement and positive contribution to ICT projects.
·  Desirable:
·  Supervisory skills and project work.
·  Evidence of provision of clear, balanced advice and guidance in an ICT related area.

Skills and knowledge:

·  Relevant experience working in IT security.
·  Good analytical and problem solving skills.
·  Able to manage and prioritise tasks and work schedules.
·  Positive customer service skills and friendly, flexible manner.
·  Ability to advise, guide and communicate technical issues to nontechnical staff.
·  Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
·  Good customer care skills.
