***Permanent and Temporary Positions - 32 to 40 hours per week***

Summary:
Reporting to the Coordinators, Operations, the Handler provides manual handling of baggage, manual coding and clearing of baggage at various locations where necessary.
 
Responsabilities:
• Take responsibility for handling all baggage coming down the OSB conveyors.
• Clear all bag jams.
• Take responsibility at “problem baggage” docks for handling baggage that has fallen at the wrong place.
• Operate manual coding stations.
• Manually identify baggage with a tag that has not been read by automatic identification devices.
• Manually capture minimal data to sort baggage without a BSM (baggage lacking computer data for sorting, creation of a pseudo BSM) and read data to be captured from the tag.
• Collect bins in the baggage room and bring them to designated points on the departure level.
• Participate in the contingency plan by following the contingency plans in effect.
• Code baggage without a tag or with an illegible tag to the rescue station.
• Clean bins, keep the premises clean, and maintain order in workplaces.
• Apply clearing procedures at the end of the evening, inventory remaining baggage, and check fire doors.
• Comply with all baggage control directives and procedures (CATSA EDS screening point). 
Requirements:

• Secondary school diploma (SSGD)
• Hold a valid driver’s license
• Relevant work experience
• Spoken and written French
• Willingness to work rotating schedules
• Able to obtain a security clearance at the required level
• Able to pass a medical examination
• Sustained attention span
• Adaptability to variations in workload
• General understanding of a baggage handling system (asset)
