Quantity Surveyor Graduate Scheme

Starting in September 2019, all of our graduate schemes begin with a one week Induction before your first placement begins.

ENGIE are recruiting for Quantity Surveyor Graduate to work in London and the South. This is a fixed term (2 years) full time role working 37.5 hours per week, but we fully anticipate all graduate will remain with us in permanent roles on completion of their scheme. On offer is a competitive salary £26,000 per annum (increasing to £28,000 in the second year) and company benefits package.

Scheme Overview

As a candidate on the Quantity Surveying Graduate Programme you will undertake a series of modules in various departments of the ENGIE Regeneration business, from Supply Chain to Delivery, Estimating to SHEQ; you will experience it all. The programme will offer you a clear understanding of how we operate as a business, and provide an insight into the different departments which you will be closely working with in the second part of your programme.

At the end of each module you will be assessed to ensure your competency and review your progress. A mentor and technical coach will be assigned to support your development.

Following on from your rotations, you will spend the majority of your time within the Commercial Department.  You will be involved in, and take responsibility for all aspects of Commercial contract delivery including: pre-commencement activities (procurement), construction phase activities (preparing valuations & subcontractor payments) and post contract activities (final accounts).

Professional Development

All of our graduates will be given the opportunity to work towards the CMI Level 3 Diploma in First Line Management.  The qualification is developed for junior managers, supervisors and first line managers who have, or will have, operational responsibility for a defined area of activity and who wish to build on and develop their existing management skills and knowledge.

 

You will also be undertaking the APC in order to become a Chartered Surveyor.

Essential

·  A genuine interest in our industry and your chosen area, and a passion for delivering real change in the communities we serve
·  A flexible approach to work (you will be required to work across different sites)
·  Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead, motivate and inspire others at all levels
·  A team focus with the ability to interact with a wide variety of people at all levels
·  A driven, self-motivated attitude, with the ability to work on your own initiative
·  Well-developed emotional intelligence and self-awareness
·  Industry related degree achieved within the last 2 years
·  A full UK driving licence
Desirable
·  Previous leadership experience (either through work or through extra-curricular activities)
·  Previous work experience, ideally within a relevant field
·  Previous customer services experience
