Job description

ENGIE are recruiting for General Operatives to be based in Telford, TF3 3BJ. This is a 3 month temporary full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a salary of £15,268 per annum, dependent upon skills and experience.
 
The shifts for this role will be between 6:00am until 10:00pm.

Reporting in to the Team Manager, you will be working as a General Operative in an office within the warehouse.

Main Responsibilities/Duties Include :
·  Correctly and efficiently recording information relating to specified mail items utilising a number of different valuable recording systems
·  Identifying suspected fraudulent items utilising technology provided and processing as per requirements for each unique business unit
·  Producing banking documentation as per each unique business unit
·  Identify items for repatriation as per each unique set of business unit rules
·  Preparation and secure dispatch of manifests and originals as per each unique business unit requirements
·  Reconciliation of banking and manifest documentation
·  Achieve required quality and productivity for all tasks
·  Record all production statistics as required
·  Ensure mail trays are logged onto system at point of receipt and tray ID’s generated
·  Check mail trays for exempt from opening items
·  Ensuring mail flows through to high speed opening, x-ray or scanning prep areas smoothly and efficiently as per the production plan.
·  Ensure envelopes are opened on the high speed equipment in rotation as per the plan and that all tray id’s are updated on the system
·  Ensure all trays ready to be fully opened and sorted are assigned to the correct desk and operator
·  Effectively and efficiently sort the mail by utilising the technology on the sort desks
·  Ensure no cross contamination of envelopes occurs at any stage of the mail handling process
·  Accurately preparing mail into batches for scanning
·  Ensure correct envelope and document separators are used where mail is being prepared for scanning
·  Ensure correct exempt lists are referred to for the Business Unit mail being handled
·  Utilise technology during sort process to record live production information
·  Ensure sort desk is cleared down prior to commencing opening of another sites mail within set time and that all envelopes are sealed prior to the mail leaving the desk
·  Ensure valuables are secure during the sort process and identifiable at all times
·  Achieve required quality and productivity for all tasks
·  Ensuring high priority batches are scanned first
·  Ensure correct information is selected on the scanning software prior to scanning a batch for the multiple business units documents being scanned within the scanning area
·  Scanning documentation using a number of different high and mid volume production scanners utilising the correct scanner for the business unit and type of batch required to be scanned
·  Ensuring that no cross contamination of envelope documentation occurs during the scanning process
·  Ensure that batch headers are correctly updated with the relevant information
·  Ensure that rescan requests are processed within SLA
·  Achieve required quality and productivity for all tasks
·  Ensure any good housekeeping tasks are undertaken on the scanners or within the scanning room at the start and end of each shift
·  Record all production statistics as required
·  Ensure the documentation once scanned is sent to the next relevant area within the unit
·  Undertake any archiving tasks as required

Qualifications or Required Experience:
·  PC literate with good knowledge of Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Access)
·  Previous experience of data entry with a typing speed equivalent to a minimum of 45-50 w.p.m.
·  Good numeracy skills
·  Good reading and writing skills
·  Flexible approach and ability to work as part of a team in a multi skilled mail processing centre environment
·  Demonstrating a flexible attitude by undertaking any ad hoc tasks considered reasonable by the Team Leader
·  Ability to focus within a busy production environment and pay good attention to detail
·  Abide by and promote good Health and Safety practices in the workplace
·  Highly motivated and capable of multi-tasking, coupled with a team player attitude
·  Able to work on own initiative and with minimum supervision, as and when required
·  Courteous, helpful and ‘can do’ attitude
·  Ability to communicate well at all levels
