Job description

EQUANS are recruiting for a General Maintenance Operative on the HMCTS to be based onsite in Southwark, London. This is a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and excellent benefits package.

What will you deliver?

The primary purpose of the role is to carry out both planned and reactive maintenance on a wide variet of Fabric and limited Engineering Assets, ensuring all activities are completed in a safe and timely manner. This will include Legionella control and monitoring activities. Activities will include:

·  Inspect/repair floor, walls, ceilings and roofs
·  Inspect /repair free standing and fitted furniture
·  Inspect/clear drainage and gully systems
·  Inspect/replace lamps / tubes
·  Inspect/repair doors (Inc. Fire Doors), windows and associated furniture.
·  Legionella duties – tap temps and flushing
·  Painting, re-decorating and hanging of pictures/signed/notices
·  Plantroom inspections and AHU filter changes
·  Reactive repairs and initial attendance for toilets, leaks and blockages
·  Assist engineering staff in a wide range of duties as required
·  Carry out reactive / Ad-Hoc activities – being the first response on site, and where appropriate taking immediate action to make safe
·  Escorting contractors

Who are we looking for?

·  Would be desirable if you hold an NVQ (or similar) in either Plumbing, Carpentry or Decorating Services.
·  Demonstrable experience in either capentry, painting, plumbing or flooring in a construction, repair or maintenance environment.
·  Good knowledge of Fire Door maintenance and inspection techniques.
·  Understanding of Legionella control techniques e.g tap flushing.
·  Due to the nature of the nature of the contract, you will be required to go through an enhanced security vetting process which will include a criminal records check.
