ENGIE are recruiting for a Gas Demand Forecasting Analyst to be based in Leeds (LS12 1BE). This is a permanent and full-time role which offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
Purpose of the Job
To forecast the daily consumption of gas retail customers from long term through to within day.
Minimise balancing costs associated with Flexible Product customers through accurate forecasting at month ahead.
Analyse forecasting performance and production of management information reports.
Main Responsibilities
Production of accurate and timely gas demand for all classes of supply customers including domestic and export
Development of forecasting models for different customers/customer types with a view to improve forecasting performance
Ensure customers are appropriately set up in relevant forecasting systems and maintenance of portfolio consistency
Management of customer consumption data
Analysis of forecasting performance
Analysis of Bank Holiday and other shutdown periods and implementation of agreed forecast strategy
Ensure standing data used in forecasting systems is up to date and accurate
Forecasting of customer capacity breaches
Adherence to internal processes and risk frameworks
Outcome, Results and Key Performance Indicators
Forecasts issued within required timescales
Forecast accuracy within agreed targets
Contribute to the improvement of demand forecasting strategies and models
Liaison with customers regarding consumption queries
Support the upgrade and development of demand forecasting models/systems
Production of management information reports
Provision of relevant data to industry bodies within required timescales
Liaison with Sales/Contract Management to ensure accurate portfolio view, including future wins/losses
Liaison with Canary Wharf Shift Team to ensure out-of-hours operations & forecasting performance is maintained

Qualifications
Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, or specific related experience.
Knowledge and Skills
Ability to work within tight deadlines
Strong analytical skills
Highly numerate
Microsoft Office proficient, VBA skills would be advantageous
Able to manage large sets of data
Experience
Proven ability to organise and produce work under tight deadlines
Statistical analysis would be advantageous
