ENGIE are recruiting for a Fire Safety Manager to be based at the Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth. This is a permanent, full time role, working 37.5 hours a week. On offer is a salary banding of £38,000 to £44,000 per annum plus company benefits package.

As Fire Safety Manager you will act as the lead competent person in relation to fire safety issues with specific reference to the NHS Fire Code standards and the requirements of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. You will have the ability to work autonomously and be able to receive and carefully analyse and interpret complexed information. You will also be required to make judgements and decisions based on compliance with both legislation and technical standards.

Your Day to Day:

·  Provide the professional input to all matters relating to fire prevention and precaution issues, affecting or likely to affect the running of the site.
·  Maintain and develop specialist knowledge on current trends and keeping abreast of relevant legislation.
·  Provide the interpretation and application of the provisions of legislation in the Fire Safety Policy, The Fire Safety Order 2005 (RRO), Building Regulations Approved Document B: NHS HEALTH TECHNICAL MEMORANDUM (HTM) FIRECODE and other regulatory guidance and legislation in respect of fire safety in NHS premises.
·  Ensure that fire safety statutory compliance is co-ordinated and maintained.
·  Implementation and monitoring of all Engie and PHU Trust fire safety policies and associated fire safety risk management system.
·  Work with operational managers to ensure that fire safety is managed in line with the organisation’s policy. Ensure the effective and appropriate translation of fire safety strategy into practical application through the active promotion of fire safety.
·  Develop and monitor the programme of fire risk assessments of premises as required by HTM FIRECODE and The Fire Safety Order 2005.. Ensure the dissemination and practical application of fire risk assessments to functional heads and staff with specific fire responsibilities.
·  Manage the maintenance of corporate fire safety records, and the development of local fire safety manuals for premises.
·  Co-ordinate fire safety advice on the interpretation and implementation of NHS FIRECODE and other legislation and provide fire safety advice and assistance to all employees.
·  Prepare fire safety reports and undertake audits in accordance with agreed contract schedules.

About you:

·  You will be a member of recognised professional body in relation to Fire Safety Management.
·  Hold a recognised qualification in a fire safety discipline with experience working in a Fire safety management role in a healthcare setting.
·  Evidence of Continuous Professional Development.
·  Maximo experience preferable
·  Good working knowledge in building fire safety and building engineering services.
·  At least three years’ experience with the building/fire safety industry at supervisory level.
·  Good understanding of non-clinical H&S risks.
