ENGIE are recruiting for a Finance Processing Assistant to be based in North Tyneside Council Offices, Quadrant, Silverlink North, Cobalt Business Park, North Tyneside, NE27 0BY.

This is a permanent, full time role working 37.5 hours a week Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm and on offer will be a salary of £18,460 to £22,500 per annum dependant on skills and experience.  This role will report into the Principal Accountant.

The main duties and responsibilities are:

·  To assist in the organisation and provision of clerical and administrative support relating to finance.
·  To undertake analysis and obtain information to inform decisions.
·  Responding to and answering queries relating to the finance processes (including by letter).
·  To undertake the management of manual and computerised record / information systems, including the analysis, manipulation and production / presentation of reports.
·  Monitoring process timelines and identify where slippage occurs.
·  Handling and reconciliation of incoming and outgoing finances in accordance with financial regulations.  Providing timely budget information to the project team or service team.
·  To ensure that any equipment, stationery, other office consumables (including basic maintenance of equipment), goods and services are ordered in accordance with purchasing procedures.
·  Undertake data processing and complex IT based tasks.
·  Processing payments and creating invoices via the Council’s computer systems and to maintain manual and computer systems.
·  Administration of petty cash accounts and maintaining a centralised account on behalf of North Tyneside Council.
·  Operate, demonstrate and deliver basic training on relevant ICT software packages e.g. word processing packages, databases, spreadsheets, specialist software e.g. Oracle, Microsoft Project etc. 
·  To process invoices and deal with queries relating to invoicing.
·  Complete and submit monitoring forms, returns etc, including those to external bodies.
·  Monitor and manage stock within an agreed budget, cataloguing resources and undertaking audits.
·  To undertake activities in relation to technical administrative procedures e.g. planning and regulatory procedures, HR/Staffing procedures, Payroll, Finance etc and provide advice and guidance on these to a range of service users
·  Undertake data processing and complex IT based tasks.
·  Reconciliation of virtual purchase card (catering) spend on the Natwest system (SDOL).
·  Provide support and training on BMS for creating Purchase Orders.  Responsible for 
·  receipting and cancelling orders in the absence of requisitioners.
·  Administration of Sheltered Housing Concessionary TV Licence Scheme.
·  To ensure all financial processes are dealt with appropriately, on time and in accordance 
·  with North Tyneside Council’s Financial Regulations.

Qualifications and experience required:

·  The ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels;
·  The ability to maintain relationships with both internal and external customers;
·  Ability to perform in a team environment
·  Ability to be organised and methodical and plan work over the short term to meet deadlines
·  Ability to demonstrate literacy and numeracy skills
·  Experience of working ICT systems, IT literate
·  Ability to use skills and knowledge in order to resolve simple problems
·  Educated to GCSE level or equivalent For this role you must have evidence of right to work in the UK. There is no re-location package with this job role.
