Job description



Legal & ethics team of BU NECST is opening a junior/mid level counsel position for 1 year with a special focus on supporting the BU legal, ethics and compliance line in the implementation of the Group’s ethics and compliance policies (anti-corruption, cartel, ethics checks, embargo, Sapin II, GDPR, plan de vigilance, compliance programs in the BU countriesand the BUs HQ).

The junior/mid-level legal counsel will also advise on corporate legal matters when necessary in support of the legal counsels and senior legal counsels of the BU as may be determined by the BU General Counsel.

General description of work requirements:

Organizing the ethics check performance

·  Request for proposal to service providers and summary of offers
·  Presentation of the summary to the ethics officer and after selection, instruction of the services provider
·  Liaising for the receipt of the results
·  Liaising with the Group ethics team on the CDE ethics checks
·  Ethics check policy implementation in the BU

Embargo policy and other ethics policies

·  Ensuring the BU has all the latest info on Embargo
·  Liaising with the Group ethics team on any specific embargo questions for the countries
·  Ensuring implementation of all ethics policies of the Group in the BU – check for any updates and preparing summaries to the ethics officer of the BU and the ethics line
·  Ensuring the proper keeping of the Gift and Hospitality register at the level of the BU Headquarter
·  Supporting BU country ethics officers ensuring the implementation of national compliance program
·  Assisting in the ISO 37001 audits and surveillance since the BU is certified

Animation of the ethics line

·  Assisting the BU ethics officer in the organization of the meetings/training/webinar/calls with the BU country ethics officer
·  Assisting in the preparation of the presentations, summaries or documents concerning ethics in the BU
·  Updating the list of local ethics checks provided for the BU countries
·  Supporting BU country ethics officers in the preparation of the ethics annual report (through the new Report’ethics tool)
·  Ensuring a regular update of the BU ethics intranet (flash info) in liaise with BU communication department

GDPR

·  Assisting the BU DPO and ethics officer in the development and implementation of the GDPR regulation in the BU perimeter
·  Assisting the countries and the DPO with specific legal questions concerning GDPR

General legal advice

·  Preparing legal notes and legal research on any points of law relevant for the BU
·  Assisting senior legal counsels and legal counsels on any M&A projects, disputes of legal files when need may arise
·  Corporate housekeeping when required

Degree : Master of Laws (Master 2 droit des affaires ) – focus on compliance and ethics is a plus

General qualities: Ability to work in a team, good communication skills, multicultural, autonomous, hardworking, trustworthy, respectful and kind to others (job requires daily interaction with different countries)
