Job description

ENGIE are recruiting for an Energy Technician to be based in Wakefield. This is a permanent full time role working 37.5 hours per week. Standard office (9am - 5pm). On offer is a competitive salary.


As an integral part of an energy services team this position will be working specifically on a large client contract to ensure compliance with mandatory energy audits and reporting, while supporting the wider energy and carbon reduction programme. The position will be based in Wakefield, supporting energy services within the local portfolio.

This position provides an excellent opportunity for a technically minded individual to develop their skills and experience in the energy services/auditing sector, receiving support and training as required with a leading global business.

Main duties / responsibilities:

·  Delivery of energy compliance audits across the clients’ portfolio, including Display Energy Certificates and TM44 Air Conditioning Inspections to programme
·  Review of mechanical and electrical systems on site and provide high level concepts to improve efficiencies and minimise waste
·  Review and development of energy consumption reports/data and provide reasoning behind variances
·  Highlight and report on any energy efficiency opportunities that will benefit the customer
·  Support in resolving consumption and metering queries
·  Support the delivery of wider energy/carbon reduction projects
·  Provide assistance and service cover in other energy related activities as required
·  Provide a professional level of service
·  Achievement of company and team objectives  
·  Present obtained outcomes in reports to internal and external stakeholders
·  Delivery of key services within a large TFM contract
·  Support the delivery of energy and carbon reduction targets and associated business growth

·  Relevant Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualifications to HNC, HND, NCQ, BEng or similar level, or a suitable level of experience in this sector
·  Qualified as an energy auditor or previous training/experience to allow development to a DEC & TM44 energy auditor
·  Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems
·  Knowledge of energy efficient technologies and general building control systems
·  Excellent communication and literacy skills
·  Spoken and written fluency in English
·  Some experience of working on mechanical or electrical systems or controls
·  Some introductory experience of energy efficiency For this role you must have evidence of right to work in the UK. There is no re-location package with this job role.
