The Role: Electrical & Instrument Technician I 
Purpose
The E & I Technician I is responsible for providing electrical, instrumentation, and controls support to manage the daily and outage related maintenance activities that will ensure efficient and cost effective facility operations with compliance to all safety and environmental regulations.

Essential Job Functions
• Performs acceptance and performance testing on existing and new equipment
• Ensures proper adjustment and calibration of all plant control, measurement and protective devices.
• Responsible to troubleshoot and repair electrical and instrumentation equipment problems.
• Research equipment operations problems and identify primary failure cause and implement corrective action under supervision.
• Assist in the development of standard operational / maintenance instructions as assigned
• Maintain plant equipment, control systems and electrical equipment to the highest possible standard maximizing availability & reliability with strict observance of plant safety policies and procedures.
• Responsible for verifying setup and operation of all control devices, control system, alarms and trips.
• Help train facility operations personnel in instrumentation and controls.
• Maintain and update maintenance records and documentation.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
• Thorough knowledge of all plant systems and understanding of process diagrams, simple electrical diagrams and operating instructions.
• Ability to use analytical judgment to plan and perform diversified work, making decisions within prescribed limitations.
• Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and take direction from others.
• Ability to work overtime, as well as, any schedule including nights and weekends.

Essential Physical Abilities
• Ability to meet highest attendance requirements.
• Regularly required to use hands and arms to touch or feel, and use tools.
• Frequently is required to stand; walk; sit; and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
• Occasionally required to climb or balance.
• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Ability to use personal computer, calculator, etc.

Education/Experience
• Bachelor of Science degree (electrical engineering or equivalent) 0 – 3 years of experience.
• High School Diploma required, three (3) plus years of relevant experience and/or training; licenses, endorsements; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Electrician license preferred
• Worker must possess knowledge of High and Low Voltage electrical systems
• Experience in maintaining and troubleshooting transmitter, valve actuators, electronic controls, and PLC’s
