Job description

ENGIE are recruiting for a Development Engineer. to be based in Kings Yard,1 Waterden Road, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London E15 2GP. The role is part of the ENGIE Urban energy team. This is a permanent full time role working 37.5 hours per week Mon to Fri 9:00 to 5:30 (1 hour lunch). On offer is a competitive salary.

General Requirements:

·  To upkeep and manage project drawing registers
·  Project document control & management in line with the company Quality Management System
·  Operate within and adhere to the company Health & Safety policy and procedures
·  An attention to detail and a high standard of verbal and written skills
·  A team player with an ability to self-manage and develop projects from an outline brief and specification
·  A keen interest in combined heat and power (CHP) installations, district energy networks and energy saving technology
·  A natural aptitude for undertaking engineering calculations, analysis and problem solving
·  An interest in fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, energy transfer and stress analysis.

Specific Requirements:

·  BEng / BSc Mechanical Engineering Degree (or similar, minimum of a 2:1 standard)
·  Previous experience in a relevant field or similar role
·  A basic knowledge of relevant standards and an ability to seek, understand and utilise industry knowledge to good effect
·  Assessing the feasibility (technical and commercial) of new connections to our district heating networks or stand-alone new district heating schemes
·  An ability to size and specify heating and cooling generation plant for DH
·  Experience of working with multidisciplinary teams for large construction projects
·  Experience of site visits and surveys to collect data for creating designs
·  Liaison with both internal and external clients, contractors and suppliers
·  Experience of AutoCAD
·  Concept and Detail (ideally) design of energy centre, CHP, boiler, chiller and district heating network installations AutoCAD
·  Experience of working with Excel

Desirable:

·  MEng / MSc Mechanical Engineering Degree (or similar subject)
·  Working towards CEng Chartered Engineer status
·  Supplementary safety and industry specific training (such as CSCS card, IOSH, CIBSE courses)
·  Supplementary courses and qualifications in AutoCAD, CADWorx Plant Professional or other industry leading CAD and modelling packages
·  Experience of working on modelling software’s like EnergyPro, Termis etc.
·  Experience of Revit
·  A working knowledge of relevant CIBSE Guides, British Standards, BSRIA, IGEM and other industry authority publications
·  Experience of site attendance for snagging activities and commissioning support
·  An appreciation and understanding of the Construction & Design Management Regulations 2015
·  An ability to size and specify major plant such as boilers, CHP engines, pumps, heat exchangers and chillers For this role you must have evidence of right to work in the UK.
