Job description

ENGIE are recruiting for a Design & Build Coordinator to be based at  Keepmoat Regeneration - Callflex Business Park, Golden Smithies Lane, Wath upon Dearne, Rotherham S63 7ER. This is a permanent full time role working 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday 8:30 - 5 pm . On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.


General Overview:

The role of the Design & Build Coordinator is to control and co-ordinate all technical information between external consultants and internal departments.  To ensure all approvals are obtained and information received issued to allow for a prompt start on site.Responsible for the co-ordination of all design consultants and the flow of technical information for new build contracts through their life on site. Responsible for the completion of all approvals, certification up to and including handover of the scheme relevant to the Technical departments role in the scheme. Reporting to the Technical Manager.
Main Responsibilities/Duties Include:

CUSTOMER RELATIONS:

·  To build and enhance customer confidence.
·  Enhance company image and reputation.
·  Obtain customer feedback.
·  Encourage partnering ‘ethos’.
·  Obtain contract leads.
CONSULTANT / DESIGNER RELATIONS:

·  To build and enhance consultant relationships.
·  Obtain consultant feedback.
·  Check all drawings and details for accuracy, correctness and commercial suitability  
·  Attend design meetings with the highways and planners to ascertain requirements from a council perspective for new developments
PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENT:

·  Ensure tender design information program’s are met.
·  Prepare design quality plans.
·  Ensure information requirements are adequately programmed.
·  Improve tender contribution.
·  Improve ‘buildability’
·  Reduce maintenance liability through choice of robust materials.
INFORMATION CONTROL:

·  Ensure accurate and on time design information.
·  Ensure cost effective design control and buildability.
·  Review design information to ensure suitability and practical for use.
·  Ensure design information complies with client’s requirements.
·  Maintain a register of current drawings for all new build contracts.
·  Organize and chair design meetings with relevant consultants and designers.
·  Review and check contract documentation, warranties and bond requirements in liaison with Contracts Manager and Surveyor.
·  Ensure timely approval of samples for planning condition discharge, clients’ product/ colour choices, etc.
·  Apply for and secure statutory body approval of Engineering Design and ground remediation
·  Liaise with consultants and statutory Authorities to develop accurate service information and a “constraints” plan  
ADMINISTRATION:

·  Assist the Regional Technical Manager/Design Team to obtain fee quotations from specialist consultants for all planning and engineering design and technical report requirements.
·  Ensure all necessary consultants are appointed on time.
·  Monitor and update design quality plan.
·  Review qualifications of design consultant teams.
·  Liaise with Contract Surveyor / Manager / Buyer on placement of design subcontractors / suppliers.
·  Monitor and issue design information to production teams.
·  Give feedback on design issues post contract and complete consultant/designer performance reports.
·  Assist with material scheduling.
·  Provide technical and administrative support to the site teams
·  Attend site visits and meetings in order to solve issues that arise during the constructions process
·  Monitor progress of the adoption of roads, sewers and public open space areas
·  Pursue the reduction and release of outstanding Bonds at the earliest opportunity
·  Develop and prepare comprehensive Home User Guides and Health and Safety files for handover
Technical:

·  Ensure that new regulation requirements are anticipated and incorporated as required.
·  Be aware of new products and research build systems to ensure we are ready for legislation and market change
·  Be aware of the need for innovation in all aspects of our business

Required Qualifications and Experience:

·  Good technical knowledge
·  Good track record of similar relevant work.
·  Good inter action/communication skills.
·  Open to new ideas.
·  Familiar with Building regulations
·  Familiar with Planning requirements
·  Familiar with Warranty providers requirements
·  Must have held a similar role.
·  Must have Design and Build experience in a similar role.
