Job description



ENGIE are recruiting for a Caretaker to be based at Arthur Terry School, Sutton Coldfield. This is a permanent, full time role working Shifts 06:00-14:00, 08:30-16:30, 10:30-18:30 (plus occasional Saturdays and late evenings). On offer is a salary of up to £21,000 plus company benefits package, depending on skills and experience.

You will be responsible for the delivery of caretaking/cleaning services for designated schools within the BSF Birmingham Schools project, together with establishing a close working relationship with the school and community groups. Ensure that all services are provided to a consistently high standard in accordance with the requirements of the Project Agreement.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

· 
Respond in a timely manner to any issues with the delivery of routine and non-routine caretaking & cleaning services. Provide cover as necessary.

· 
Assist in allocation of tasks, working closely with the Head Caretaker.

· 
Act as Keyholder. Ensure routine and non-routine security procedures are carried out for the school buildings and grounds.

· 
Under the Estates Managers guidance ensure maintenance tasks are carried out in accordance with the planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programme, including pre-planned maintenance tasks during the school holidays.

· 
Support with internal and external routine inspections of the school premises are carried out.

Required Qualifications, Skills or Experience:

Essential:

Relevant working experience of providing FM services including cleaning and basic maintenance of buildings and associated plant and systems.

Experience of producing risk assessments & method statements.

Desirable:

Experience of cleaning and caretaking management within an educational environment.

GCSE / O Level Mathematics and English or equivalent.

Relevant trade or vocational qualification.
