Title of Internship: C&I Solar Business Development Co-op (Summer/Fall)

Internship Term:
The co-op work term will be from August/September 2019 through December 2019, full-time work schedule working 40 hours per week.

Internship Description
The Business Development Intern will support the C&I Sales Team and assist in reviewing opportunities for solar development with internal and external business partners. Sales and Sales Operations tasks will include opportunity selection analysis, project optimization and financial modeling, request for proposals (RFP) review and proposal writing, coordinating contract development with legal, and other data collection and management tasks. Development tasks will include assisting in activities to complete site control and permitting. A high-quality candidate will have experience managing a wide variety of concurrent responsibilities across several stakeholders.

The intern will be responsible for the following:
·  Assists in the analysis of incoming solar opportunities/projects
·  Prospects for new development sites using GIS
·  Creates and disseminates prospecting analyses of municipal and cooperative utilities to identify markets for development opportunities
·  Supports financial and technical modeling of solar and solar plus energy storage projects
·  Assists in the review of requests for proposals and corresponding written responses
·  Analyzes customer bills to determine potential solar savings as necessary

Hiring Requirements

·  Pursuing or recently completed Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field
·  Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
·  Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, ArcGIS
·  Strong analytical skills with knowledge of finance/business concepts (ROI, NPV, Payback)
·  Knowledge of the solar marketplace, technology and industry
·  Experience or interest operating with high energy and flexibility in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
·  Excellent verbal and written communication skills
·  Self-motivated and able to work effectively individually as well as with a team
·  Able to react quickly and thrive in quickly changing environment
·  Able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
·  Excellent problem-solving ability and ability to think on your feet

Hiring Preferences

·  Experience in renewable energy
·  Experience with financial modeling
